Movie Review: Krazzy 4

Krazzy 4 reminded me of the senseless movies of the 80s with a water thin plot and things happening at random just for the heck of it. Seemed as if the director had lost his script, if he had any in the first place, and decided to shoot whatever crap came to his mind on the day of the shoot. As a team building exercise, four crazy men with their doctor leave together to watch India-England cricket match. And bizarre things happen on the way. First of all they start with a boring song "Lakad lakad..." which must have been lying unused in Rajesh Roshan's collection for a long time. Next the doctor gets kidnapped with one of the madmen being eye witness while taking a leak. Cut scene 3 and you have Rakhi Sawant gyrating to a cheap item song. So on and so forth. I think you have got the point.

It's not a total waste of time though. You get to see wonderful actors Arshad Warsi, Irrfan Khan and Rajpal Yadav trying their best to salvage the futile attempt of debutant Jaideep Sen. In addition the title song picturized on Hrithik Roshan is awesome. And in case you don't like Hrithik, you must be a SRK fan. So Rakesh Roshan roped the King Khan too to do the same item song, which I must say is totally forced in the narration.

Arshad Warsi does well in a role of a guy getting fits of bad temper. Rajpal Yadav, as the freedom fighter, makes you laugh with his right expressions at the right time. Whereas Irrfan Khan, as the cleanliness freak, tickles your funny bone with his dead-pan face. Suresh Menon suffering with selective mutism, in his first title role (well one of the four main leads), ends up being completely mute. I am still wondering why should these men be in a mental asylum. Maybe the director deserves to be there more. Juhi Chawla gets little scope and so do Dia Mirza, Zakir Hussain and Rajat Kapoor.

The director has tried to show more than he could handle. As a result what we get is nothing but a poor mix of patriotism, social message, love story, emotional family drama, comedy and crime thriller. You would do good if you wait for the DVD rather than wasting money in the theater because the movie is not worth it.
