What are you talking about dude????? That's one of the cleanest comedy movies i've seen in recent times.....The comedy's pure and hilarious...The movie is a total paisa vasool...I won't say much about the actresses' roles but both Govinda and Salman rock!!! They are just great.....Even Govinda's dancing created ripples across the theater....I give you one piece of advice...next time you wanna check out a comedy, got to some single screen theater where people express themselves more clearly....they'll howl, they'll laugh and they'll dance when its a good movie...and when it's something like Aap Ka Surroor they'll come out in 10 mins...Who made you a critic by the way?????

Jayant if by cleanest you mean without any jokes I agree with you.....and yeah both Govinda and Salman rock, it was their misfortune that they were working with an over the hill director who can't come up with a decent joke.....the only scene in the first half that showed the immense talent of the actors was the scene when Govinda gets Katrina's phone number.....

and please next time there's a movie that is a good only in second half.....I'll like a note from the director so I can walk in after the first half....because people pay for the entire movie not for 10 min of laughs.....I am done buying this bullshit that the movie was good in second half.....what about the first half, are we idiots to sit through that?

and if any of you fine souls found the first half funny.....then yeah in your blog where you are a self appointed critic please give it a 9/10 rating I have no problems DUDE!!

That friggin rocket scene did it for me.....I've let lot of retarded shit get by.....but that was just a bit too much.....and come to think of it I had to convince 2 other guys to go and watch this movie with me...I know they are not coming with me again......anyways we came back and watched the original movie (Hitch).....and it was still funny.....

this review is spot on.....Jhoom Barabar Jhoom was a much better movie.....the music of partner was good.....I was disappointed because I love Govinda and salman both

I don't know about the movie, but this battle of wits between the critic and the people has been quite entertaining. It gets my 10/10 for such a complete time pass entertainement ;)

totally agree with sunil.... this movie sucks.... someone who has seen hitch and who liked it.... would cry out all thru this movie... this is crap... i mean.. no way comparable to hitch... why the hell was all that good for nothing ... the so called comedy ... actually... i didnt find any friggin dialogue comic... i sulked thru the small part of the movie i have seen... copy karna hai tho puri tarah copy karo....... for one, this is not inspired by hitch ... the whole plot has been taken from hitch... and a whole lot of nonsense screenplay was added to it.... i wonder why ppl like it.... pulleese ppl... atleast do not appreciate such copied stuff..... if the movie had an original plot , original story..... and if it was crappy, i dont mind appreciating all the hard work put by the team... but copy karke... and also ( if i am wrong correct me).. i dont see even a small note if thanks for the original movie hitch... i give it 0/10... i seriously couldnt stand the movie for long... the meeting scene where kevin james had done an awesome job.... govinda totally screwed it up... actually i think the director is to be blamed.... i could go on and on abt it... but i would rather stop wasting my time on such crappy movie... i liked jhoom barabar jhoom a lot lot better.. i would rather spend time writing a good review about it...

This is all rubbish!!.. The film was good. and, It has declared at least hit... bad review!!!.. try to watch movies with open eyes.

Thanks Sashidhar.....that was exactly the problem I had.....I've seen all of David Dhawan's movies and have liked them all and I can sit through crappiest of movies.....but this one it was kind of unpardonable.....first you have an entire script that you can copy without using your brain.....secondly you have the best comedic talent....beautiful ladies.....and a director who is known for his comedy movies.....and they screwed it all up by trying to introduce their half baked story line....I mean what was the need to add Salman's sister and her kids....and that rocket scene (how stupid do you think people are to laugh at that shitty scene)....then that chota don....the list is excruciatingly endless.....

when India can produce comedies like Munnabhai, Hera Pheri etc.....and David Dhawan himself can make classic comedies like Raja Babu, coolie no. 1, Hero no. 1.....it pisses me off to pay for movies like Partner....

its not surprising that the movie got an excellent opening, it was expected....but the fact that movie is holding strong.....its just sad....this will be another addition to my list of movies that I hated and everyone else liked.....

i dont think the movie deserved zero stars and maybe watching the entire movie would have helped sunil.. but i dont think it was the greatest movie either.. it had some REALLY stupid parts, like the rocket scene and the whole chotta don sequence.. it could have been easily cut out of the movie.. and some parts in the 2nd half could have been cut.. but it was entertaining and some parts in 2nd half were really funny.. i would give it 2.5 stars out of 5.. if you are going to go in with the expectations of it being better than Hitch, then dont go.. but if u want some laughs and want to be entertained, then do watch it..

Ok I agree zero stars was a little harsh.....but you can't blame me....I had lot of hopes with this movie....Govinda is one my favorite actors and I hate when people don't utilize his potential.....this movie could have been better than lage raho, but it wasn't.....on a normal day I would have given it two stars.....but that day I thought zero was the way to go.....

You are absalootely right dude! Its a sick comedy that just wasted my time too. It has good music, hip shaking numbers and katrina looks really hot on that last minute seducing scene. I had huge expectations from Govinda and from David Dhawan but now I wont take another chance. A lousy movie like "Good Boy Bad Boy" was marginally better than "partner".

Nothing more to say, but a word of caution for those who are yet to watch "partner", go for a walk or weekend getaway instaed of wasting time on this truly bad movie.

Punnu.....I empathize with your sentiment and I didn't say that 90% of the people are mad.....I just didn't like the movie and I am stating as it is.....yeah maybe zero stars was harsh considering that I liked the songs and the actors.....but what do you expect me to give a movie that forced me to quit after interval.....maybe I over reacted and next time I'll keep me expectations really low.....

Once again I meant no disrespect to any fans or people that are making this movie a hit.....I mean there are 100s of movies that I don't like that are hit, doesn't mean that people that watch them are stupid....I'm sure they found something entertaining.....also on the other hand there are people like me who pay for the ticket based on the hype and don't like it, but its a lost cause because my $10 are already counted towards the revenue and contributed to Partner's hit status...... i think so the movie is ok sometimes i get angry watching a movie copied from hollywood,dont know may be i would have loved the movie more if i hadnt seen will smith starrer "hitch".i think so lots of people will agree that.

This movie lacked originality. First of all, why would you even watch a movie that was obviously taken from another one? In case you missed it, HITCH is what you should watch. It's funny, original, and not Indian. Directors should seriously stop taking storylines from American directors, it makes them look desperate and in my books, not very talented. It could very well be the best movie of the year, but that's because standards in Indian cinema has seriously declined.
On a more positive note, I did enjoy the music.

hollywood hitch is ten times better than dis crap partner...will smith is rockin yaar..music is also copied from rihanna..hey mr dj song...kkkaaappiishhh...

This has to be one of the sillest forums for the discussion of film, as I haven't really seem film or direction for that matter discussed as of yet. Even the critic walked out mid way through the movie. Pardon me sir but you cannot judge a film until you have seen the entire film. I don't believe you have any credentials as a film critic anyway, as any film class would have taught you to WATCH the movie before you judged it. But alas judged it you have, and instead on talking about both positive and negative qualities you review reeks of an individual who has self proclaimed low opinion of Indian cinema and has thus lowered the respect i hold for you. Please take a course or two in the art of film before you plague the world with your opinions. Please do not think that I am writing this in response to this particular review, as I thought Partner was simply so-so and did have faults though did manage to entertain a large group of people as was the goal of the film, but your reviews seems to be consistently shallow and unsatisfying and thus I would encourage you improve yourself!

Its nice to hear that you respected me once.....but here's the thing.....I don't care what you think or if the movie made millions (atleast now they can pay back the hitch guys)......its my opinion that I am writing and I didn't like the movie man and that's what I am going to write.....you can like it or dislike it.....if you dislike it, give me your reasons for liking the movie and not come here and give me your psychiatric opinion about my personality.....

Btw, I liked Partner! It was not the best of the comedies I have seen, but certainly not the worst. It was average in terms of content. But when you have Salman Khan and Govinda at their best, I don't want to complain. Songs were really good. Govinda danced with so fun, I can't stop enjoying it. Salman too gave him good company. And what to say about the lovely ladies Katrina Kaif and Lara Lappa errr Dutta. They look so gorgeous. I don't go to a movie anyway to watch Katrina and Lara act. So they did what they were supposed to. David Dhawan makes non-sense movies, everyone knows that but still they go and watch them. That's been proved yet again.

But you are right. Now the makers of Partner should pay back Hitch makers. I heard Sony Pictures are in fact planning to sue the producers of Partner for copyright violation.

Chak De, if Hitch makers really sue Partner guys, it will be actually a blessing in disguise for Bollywood for then they will come out with original stuff, which I believe they can.
