Weekend Watch: Eye for an Eye…. !!

A 1996 release, this movie called “Eye for an eye” is frequently being telecasted on HBO in India for quite some time now. Next you can catch it this Saturday at 11:30 pm, same channel.

The movie speaks of the struggles that a mother Karen McCann (played by Sally Field) goes through in order to get that one person punished who brutally raped and killed her daughter and is still out on the loose. The criminal called Robert Doob has been played by Kiefer Sutherland. The movie also stars Ed Harris as the husband of Karen.

Though many movies such as this one have been made in which the protagonist finds himself/herself on a trail to catch the criminal and thus seek vengeance and this one does not promise anything really different, yet it does give out some good performances. Sootherland was a convincing actor, especially with the nasty temperament that he time and again displays even in normal day-to-day activities.

The movie has been directed by John Schlesinger and has been adapted into a screenplay by Amanda Silver from the novel of Erika Holzer.
