A teen love story set in the good ol’ school days when sleeping a little late in the mornings and bunking classes were the order of the day. As the very title gives it away, this movie belongs to the time of first crushes and innocent romances. This is director Robby Grewal’s second venture after his last movie called “Samay”.
Rohan (Ruslaan) is a sports buff and a regular class bunker and can be most aptly identified with the love of sleeping. Ayesha (Hazel) is the ‘no nonsense’, responsible girl. And as they say, opposites attract, so do they and hence fall for each other. However after a slight tiff over Rohan’s sleeping patterns and egoist disposition, Ayesha becomes heartbroken and moves to France. Rohan determines himself to fight all odds and move to France in order to see his ladylove once again.
The story does not really speak of anything much different however the good thing here being that it projects all those trifle things over which tussles really take place at such an age. There is no high and mighty, grave issue governing the love life of these characters. Moreover, (and thankfully) there are no problems dealing with parental opposition or the rich boy-poor girl (or vice versa) divide.
Other than that, the actors in the main lead are fine as per the demands of the movie. Both of them are vibrant and young with a fresh appeal. Kanwaljit Singh, Manoj Pahwa and Gaurav Gera are good. Rest all suit their roles too. The sights of Paris are appeasing.
On the musical front, it is a total let down. The songs seem ill fitting and all the numbers are just very plain, with absolutely no pep, despite the movie promising ample romance.
Also the story drags too much at times and it seems as if the narrative needs acceleration with the conflicts put in a slightly more constricted mode.
In and all, the movie is targeted at the adolescent audience and it may succeed to woo just them. It speaks of their mindsets, the pranks, fun filled days with friends and the innocent naughtiness that is a part and parcel of those times.
Not so bad, but still an average show!!!!
