Movie Review: Fool N Final

One fine day Ahmed Khan (choreographer turned director) watches Snatch and decides to remake it. Nothing wrong there. After all Snatch was quite hilarious and it's moral responsibility of our Bollywood film makers to make it available locally. So, Ahmed Khan ensembles a big star cast to make desi version of "stealing stones and breaking bones". So far so good. Sad part is that there is nothing positive about the movie beyond that. Screenplay and execution of Fool N Final take audience for granted and test its intelligence to the unendurable extent.  The end result is a complete downer. But, in the first place, did we ever expect anything better from the man who squandered a similar opportunity with multi-starrer Lakeer!

The story is so ridiculously complex that I won't take the pain of writing it even in short. And trust me, you would not want to take that pain either - by reading here or by watching this crap in theater. Stay away! But if you insist, here is a one liner. It's about a diamond heist gone haywire. Stay away!

Besides the main story (lol) there are so many subplots, which look so foolish that make me wonder - Ahmed Khan did name the movie aptly. He has made a "fool" of himself and will hopefully be his "final" movie. Umesh Shukla and Abbas Hierapurwala (writers, lol) could have done better to at least put all loose ends together instead of simply trying to cater for everyone.

Paresh Rawal and Johnny Lever annoyingly bore you to death. They think they are doing comedy, huh? Loud, unimaginative and totally intolerable! Shahid Kapoor's spirited and sincere performance shows on the screen but it's wasted in a wrong movie. Ayesha Takia looks pretty. Wish she had something more to do. Sunny Deol and Viveik Oberoi have nothing substantial to do. Ditto for Sameera Reddy, Sharmila Tagore, Om Puri, Jackie Shroff, Chunky Pandey, Arbaaz Khan, Zakir Hussain, Gulshan Grover, Asrani, Vijay Raaz, Razzak Khan, Suresh Menon - whew!!!

Usually Firoz Nadiadwala (producer) movies have good music but Himesh Reshammiya disappoints big time in Fool N Final. Bikes racing through the streets of Dubai, desert sequences and some stunts might have some takers but overall Ahmed Khan has failed miserably in his second attempt too. Highly unrecommended!
