After Bunty Aur Babli, my expectations with Jhoom Barabar Jhoom were really high. Now having listened to the album four-five times, I would say it's pretty average. It's certainly no Sathiya or Bunty Aur Babli, but it's not that bad either. There are a lot of things going for it and I am sure the music will be a hit. Jhoom Barabar Jhoom has some unique sounds. Its definitely very Indian yet has its share of some heavy guitars and beats. However I was expecting a little more from Gulzar and Shankar, Ehsan and Loy. But then you can't meet everyone's expectations can you?
The album has 7 numbers, with 6 songs and one instrumental piece. The album has more faster paced, dance type songs which I guess goes with the energy of the movie which we got a glimpse of from the trailer.
Jhoom Barabar Jhoom - Shankar Mahadevan
This is catchiest and oft repeated song in the album. The title song has 3 other versions including an instrumental Jhoom Jam. This song has a great beat to it and Shankar's vocal add a lot of life to this song. Trust me 1 min into it you will have your hands up in the air.
Ticket To Hollywood - Neeraj Shridhar
This is another interesting song (or confusing) music wise. It has an English title yet has a very strong desi feel to it. There are all kinds of music styles fused into one. Mood wise it swings back and forth from dramatic to fun filled. It is the kind of song which might grow on you after multiple hearings.
JBJ - Shankar Mahadevan, Zubeen, Sunidhi Chauhan
This is one of the four Jhoom versions. Although it shares the same JBJ chorus, its very different in music and lyrics. JBJ is a fast dance type number with some heavy beats. Turn up the volume and groove!!
Bol Na Halke Halke - Mahalaxmi Iyer, Rahat Fateh Ali Khan
This is a complete U turn in the album; after three fast numbers this is a more slower love song. This song although not that bad is no Chup Chup Ke from Bunty Aur Babli. But again to be fair its probably not meant to be catchy but more traditional.

Kiss of Love - Vishal Dudlani, Vasundhara Das
Another fast paced, dance track, this time sung by Vishal who does a great job and Vasundhara who is equally good. I was a bit ho hum about the song, as it didn't impress me much on the first hearing. Even with the strong vocals, the song is just average. It might grown on you, but with an album full of fast paced songs, this might just get lost. Some really average lyrics by Gulzaar too.
Jhoom Barabar Jhoom - KK, Sukhvinder Singh, Mahalaxmi Iyer & Shankar Mahadevan
Interesting thing is even thoguh this song is exactly the first song, with little differences here and there and yet it's not called a remix. I guess, technically, it didn't qualify :-) It does have three extra singers and is a little more western than the first one though.
Jhoom Jam - Instrumental
This instrumental version of the title song wraps up the album. Not sure what I can write about this except by the time you are done with the album you have already heard that music a few times so you don't really care that much about it.
Definitely recommend that you guys listen to it. Like I said before, its not one of those no-brainer albums, but not that bad either.

I simply love this movie's music AND the song lyrics. On top of that, the singing is flawless in every song.
Don't understand why it has been rated average. Even if you compare its music with the previous Shaad Ali ventures, I think it definitely comes out with flying colors. The numbers are all chartbusters, there is something for the dance-freaks as well as soft-melody listeners.
I give the music 5/5.
