Movie Review: Delhii Heights… Thumbs down!!!

Delhii Heights has been promoted a lot recently trying to make fruitful promises, however the debutant director Anand Kumar fails miserably to make an impression upon its audiences, as neither is he able to catch the pulse of saddi dilli, in the appropriate fashion, nor is the script able to hold the attention through the stretch of the movie.

The story is about this couple played by Jimmy Shergill and Neha Dhupia who are working for rival companies and are looking for professional highs in their respective careers, thus ending up with marital fights and troubles. Another couple, played by Rohit Roy and Simone Singh - they have a troublesome marriage in the beginning (because of the playboy image of the husband) but it finally sets off for a smooth sail…. and they all live in a residential complex called “Delhii Heights”… That’s it? Well, that’s it! Pretty cool…. Huh!

The movie crashes down pathetically, leaving you on the brink of wondering that what it was all about in the first place. Though the plot looks lustrous that could have vouched for a lot of drama if treated with finesse, but there is a lack of shape and style to all the treatment. The script comes out absolutely loose and amateur. A lot of good work could have been done, had the team put in a little more effort and gave attention to the characters, thus also building them with distinctive and effectual skins.

The movie also features Om Puri as Timmy Singh. Being an incredible actor without doubt, the viewers only long for more of him in the frames. There is also a bunch of whacky kids who share space screen and add a different spice to the overall feel.

The music of the movie has however been appreciated a lot, thanks to Rabbi Shergill with his “Tere bin” and “Dilli”. Rest of the songs are just plain mediocre with nothing great about the rhythm, lyrics or even the choreography.

The good thing about the movie is the performance delivered by Jimmy Shergill as he seems to be budding with all his successive movies. He has truly stood out among all actors with mature outcomes.

Delhi Heights comes forward as a real bummer…. Recommended strictly for Jimmy Shergill fans…!!!
