Music Review: Honeymoon Travels Pvt. Ltd.

Honeymoon Travels Pvt. Ltd. is the latest offering from the makers of Dil Chahta Hai, Lakshya and Don - Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani. Only this time it's not directed by Farhan. The movie is written and directed by Reema Kagti, who was an assistant director on Lakshya, Dil Chahta Hai and Lagaan. One more change - music is by Vishal Shekhar, who replace Farhan regular Shankar-Ehsan-Loy. But Shakar Mahadevan does make an appearance when he sings Albela Albela with Vishal Dadlani. Javed Akhtar is at the helm of lyrics and, as expected, does very well.
Sajnaji Vaari Vaari: Sunidhi Chauhan, Shekhar Ravjiani
There is only one word to describe Sajnani Vaari Vaari - Contagious. Yes, you just can't stop dancing to this folk - western fusion. Sunidhi Chauhan is at her best, aptly accompanied by Shekhar Ravjiani. You don't believe me? Watch Kay Kay for yourself below and tell me if you didn't feel like hitting the dance floor.
Jaane Hai Woh Kahan: Shreya Ghoshal, Shaan
There is something special about songs where the male singer makes a very late entry. I can give you many examples, but I leave that to you to figure out. You will understand what I mean after you listen to Shaan joining Shreya Ghoshal towards the end of Jaane Hai Woh Kahan - a beautiful song.
Albela Albela: Vishal Dadlani, Shankar Mahadevan
I was expecting a lot from this number, sung by Vishal Dadlani and Shankar Mahadevan. However, to be honest, Vishal's part looks more like noise than music. Shankar tries to save this from being a total disappointment. Probably I'll have to watch this on screen before writing it off completely.
Halke Halke: Neeraj Sridhar
Neeraj Sridhar (of Bombay Vikings) sings this melodious number quite effortlessly. You will feel good after listening to Halke Halke. And there is a remix version too at the end of the album for those who like fast paced music.
Pyaar Ki Yeh Kahani: Sunidhi Chauhan, Gayatri Iyer
The first thought which came to my mind on hearing this Sunidhi Chauhan and Gayatri Iyer number was the music of 'The Mask of Zorro'. And to a slight extent - Zinda Hai Tumse from 'Josh'. Having said that, I must say this song takes the youthful ride of Honeymoon Travels a step further.
Haath Dhore Niye Chalo: Instrumental
This funky instrumental piece gels very well with the movie's youthful theme. It's kind of music you get to hear at rave parties and discotheques.
To sum up the music of Honeymoon Travels Pvt. Ltd. I would say Sajnani Vaari Vaari is a sure shot chart buster right from the word go and that should boost the sales of this T-Series release tremendously. Vishal Shekhar have done reasonably well in giving funky energetic numbers. I am going to replay Sajnaji Vaari Vaari and Haath Dhore Niye Chalo while you listen to this album and post your comments!

Re: Music Review: Honeymoon Travels Pvt. Ltd.
Very nice review. I listened to this soundtrack all day yesterday (I'm a little excited about this movie!). I loved "Sajnaji vaari vaari" as you did. I also loved the straight up funk of "Albela albela" - i think it too has an infectious energy and Javed sahib's lyrics are very sweet. The rest of the soundtrack has not stuck with me the same way - all the songs are good, but I don't yet find them terribly memorable. If they are well picturized, though, I suspect they will stick more after the movie. All in all it strikes me as the type of soundtrack that can really add a lot to a film, and if the "Sajnaji" promo is representative of the quality of the picturizations, it certainly will. Really looking forward to the movie.

video of Sajnaji vaari vaari is awesome! this song should be a big hit.
Re: Music Review: Honeymoon Travels Pvt. Ltd.
Albela Albela is the best song of the album......apparently the reviewer is not a big fan of Funk.....thats why he considers Vishal's part as noise.....its an awesome song!!
