Movie Review: JAAN-E-MANN

jaanemann_poster.jpg

Jaan-e-Mann is a big Diwali release from Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment production house. Apart from the big budget, what makes it big is the superhit jodi of Salman Khan and Akshay Kumar romancing Preity Zinta. Music is already a hit with songs in Top 3 of all weekly countdowns. Honestly, despite these, I did not have high expectations from Jaan-e-Mann. Partly because I thought it to be one of those typical mushy triangular love stories and also because it kinda got lost in all the Don hype.

Pleasantly, I have been proved wrong! Jaan-e-Mann does not follow any of the done to death melodramatic over the top stuff you get to see in 'two boys loving the same girl' kind of movies. Jaan-e-Mann is not your usual bollywood movie, to say the least. It's a poetry in the form of a musical, which is sure to impress viewers.

Music Review: Dhoom:2

The soundtrack of Dhoom rocked, probably the best soundtrack of the year it was released. It was urban, different and way cool than what we expected. Pritam hit jackpot with that movie. Obviously the expectations were high with Dhoom 2, not only due the precendent set by the first movie, but also because of the huge star cast in this movie. So how is the music?

Movie Review: Don

Don ka review likhna mushkil hi nahin namumkin hai! And Farhan Akhtar should have had realized the same before remaking this 1978 Amitabh starrer. Must say, a very brave attempt. But not an intelligent one.

Music Review: Apna Sapna Money Money

'Apna Sapna Money Money' is the latest offering from Subhash Ghai. Directed by Sangeeth Sivan ('Kya Kool Hai Hum' fame) this has music by Pritam and lyrics by Shabbir Ahmed. I was quite reluctant to listen to its music as I thought Pritam would be reserving his best for 'Dhoom 2'. But I was wrong. You need to listen to 'Apna Sapna Money Money' to believe what I mean. Album, comprised mainly of item songs, takes you by surprise.
