User Review: "Gandhigeeri" or "Gandhism"

First of all I want to thank Raju Hirani, who is one-man army behind this rib tickling yet inspirational movie. If you think "Munna Bhai MBBS" was good, then this is even better both in sending message to crowd and in tickling their funny bone. After watching RDB, I had a feeling that Indian storytellers do have something in them; but last night I became sure that they are capable of making stories for what we call, World-class cinema. I don't want but still I am compelled to compare it with movies like "RDB" and "Do Aankhein Baarah Haath". What’s common in them? Watch it, and you will understand if you have an Indian inside you.

Leaving all those big talks about inspiration and art in cinema aside, lets move to the review of movie. It starts with a love story of Munna and Jahanvi, as expected, but somewhere in between those funny one liners and few laugh riots, director moved it to very different direction: "GandhiGeeri". The word itself is self explanatory, but the power of word is much more than that; and that exactly was shown in the movie. Munna and company is as usual cheerful and Vidya balan is looking better than ever (perfect mix for any comedy movie), but still the biggest attraction of this movie is its screenplay. The second best part of this movie is, any guesses?????.......... Apun ka Circuit, aka "Sarkeshwar"!! This guy is so good in comedy and especially one-liners, that you will love him from very first scene. He played the toughest charachter of this movie, A gangster who miss his mother, who trust Munna in every situation, who loves to fight but forced to follow "Gandhigiri" even without knowing what exactly that means. His dialouge "Bhai, aaj isko yahinch dho daalte hain... andar to already hain, yeh police waale aur kitne andar karenge" was awesome, considering what all happened before that. He is such a naive, and lovable charachter that nobody can forget him after watching the movie. Another angle of friendship between Munna and circuit was really touching (Thankfully no GAY jokes, like in Karan Johar movies), and that particular scene where both were crying was very emotional. If you think this guy is good in comic role only, then go and watch "Sehar" in which he played a tough cop who fought till the end of his life. Sanjay Dutt has delivered another rocking performance for which he will be remembered in coming generations. The innocent look on tough gangster is something very strange, but he did it again and that too with ease. Vidya balan is a RJ (which by the grace of god is not irritating and shouting charachter of Salaam namaste) in this movie and looking very beautiful and cute. Boman irani has done well in the role of sardar and his comic timing is good as always. 

Overall, ***** out of ***** for this wonderful movie with awesome screenplay, choreography and acting performances. Raju hirani showed how to send a serious and sensitive message to public by mixing it with adequate mix of comedy, emotions and preaching. This is the most entertaining Gandhi movie ever made.
