First Look: DELHII HEIGHTS

As we all know, Indian audience is now looking for nothing but mature and experimental cinema. Their heart now yearns for something pretty commendable and exciting. The topics that have not been touched so far are attracting crowds towards them. “Delhii Heights” could just be another addition to the crop of such films that try to tread a different path. The film showcases the way people living in Delhi are addressed. The film is set in a high-rise apartment of Delhi called “DELHII HEIGHTS”, where lives of three couples run simultaneously.

First among them is the story of Abi (Jimmy Shergill) and Suhana (Neha Dhupia). Both of them work for rival companies. So their story showcases the impact of their professional lives on their personal lives. It’s about how they manage to maintain both their lives.

Then there is another couple, not so young, that of Bobby (Rohit Roy) and Saima (Simone Singh). But here Saima faces a different problem, which is Bobby’s flirtatious nature. He is a compulsive flirt and she knows about it. Both of them are aware that this won’t do anything good to their married life. How a series of incidents change their lives is to be seen.

Then there lives a middle aged Sikh couple that includes Timmy Kohli (Om Puri), his wife Ruby (Kamini Khanna) and their two daughters. They are quite happy and together but the issue is that Timmy Kohli is quite concerned about the fact that the eldest of his two daughters has now grown up & is ready to face the world. She is still a ‘kiddo’ in his eyes.

Apart from the three couples, there is Lucky (Vivek Shauq), who is a cricket bookie by profession. He is hilarious to the core. But how do the three couples affect his life?

Also there are 4 boys, living in the same apartment, who keep running after girls and don’t lose even a single chance to flirt with every girl that comes their way. They are philanderers.

Delhii Heights” serves as a platform where the lives of all these people collide with each other. It’s about how they learn from each other and how everyone’s presence in the society impacts their lives.

Sivaji Productions, the production banner founded by Thespian Sivaji Ganesan nearly 50 years ago with a Hindi film Amardeep (1958), is the banner behind “Delhii Heights”. Produced by Prabhu with story and direction by Anand Kumar, the film has a brilliant music by Rabbi Shergill, making his debut in films as Music Director and Lyrics Writer. Other credits include Cinematography by Aatish Parmar, Screenplay and Dialogues by Sanyukta Chawla & Choreography by Remo. Main Cast includes Jimmy Shergill, Neha Dhupia, Rohit Roy, Simone Singh, Om Puri, Vivek Shauq & Kamini Khanna. The film is all set to hit the theatres in March, 2007. Truly a feel good movie……
