Pritam listens to Korean music so you don't have to [only their Desi copies]

In geek-speak, the creativity of most Bollywood artists can be described by the following key strokes CTRL-C and CTRL-V. As long as they stick to that, we can expect a good product. But god forbid they decide to  edit or fit in their own version into the copied material and we end up with disasters like "RGV Ki Aag" (in this case it wasn't blatant copy, it was inspiration but you get the point).  Anyways this story is not about Ram Gopal Varma, its about Pritam.....

I am proud to say that one of my favorite music directors of last year Pritam religiously follows the copy mantra to give us some truly great songs. Don't get me wrong he's not your run of the mill "copy cat", oh yeah, he goes that extra mile (or in his case some extra countries) to steal. He steals from Korean music, French Music, Arabic Music and even Bengali music.

I mean who in India really listens to Korean music right? Well I'm sure that's what Pritam thought when he decided to blatantly steal their music, but little did he know, that there are indeed people who do that. Some good fella on YouTube put a sampling of what can be called the the cream of Indian music from last year's releases alongside their originals. Be warned before you listen to these songs, because some of these copy acts will make you question your faith. (No seriously!!). I love the quote from Einstein:-)

Who Cares. His Music Still Rocks. I am a Pritam Fan

As for copycats every other music director has done in it bollywood. whether it is anu malik, bappi lahiri, r.d. burman, nadeem sharavan, shankar eshan loy.

a couple of examples:

macarena ripped off by anu malik in films : dhaal and auzaar

stereo nation song oh baby don't break my heart ripped off by nadeem sharavan in mohobaat

pretty woman ripped off by shankar eshan loy of kal ho na ho

mujhe need na aye from dil by anand milind ripped off from punjabi song chun ud ud jaye of alaap group

oye oye of tridev ripped off from gloria estefan

the count goes on. so what. i am pretty sure other foreign artists ripoff off indian music too.

pritam songs rock and in my opinion he is the best music director today and he should have won best music last year for jab we met not boring a.r. rehman for guru.

Re: Pritam listens to Korean music so you don't have to [only th

so you are saying since a lot of people do it so it's probably okay to copy and actually get rewarded for it? I'd like to hear what you'd have to say when someone rips off one of your creation and makes millions off of it and gets awarded for it......

All Pritam should get is a invoices from all the original musicians so he can pay them royalties......

also its not about Indian or foreign artists.....a copy cat is a copy cat in any country.....

Re: Pritam listens to Korean music so you don't have to [only th

why doesnt pritam make some original music, all he does in his studio is listening to other people's music and taking their music. people these day just dont have any moralist values. at least give credit to the orginal song...

Re: Pritam listens to Korean music so you don't have to [only th

MAAN.....This is blatantly unethical.....Forget of artists from whom he stole the work I as a listener feel cheated and fooled.....Such individuals are shame to the country and have fooled us to be their fan and pay to buy the stolen music...no acknowledgment what so ever ... I feel extremely outraged and ashamed because he is from my country...I willing to contribute if someone takes him to the court...

Re: Pritam listens to Korean music so you don't have to [only th

someone should definitely sue this guy

Re: Pritam listens to Korean music so you don't have to [only th

HI guys how can some one sue him as he has taken the copy rights, however how can he be responsible to pay the royalties it must be the work of the producers who's movie is making money, Music Directors get their one time payment for their work, more over copying music is not any music director will he would like to do but it is a fact that Producers and Directors insist in getting the copied music, if they say no to that then there is no copying of music why simply blame the music directors, Music directors are on constant pressure to provide music to complete the movies in a short time which they do for their living not for making name(ie people need time for creativity), However i am not justifying the fact that music must be lifted there are crores of people in India who would still want to listen to good music in the language in which they best understand or the emotions that the music creates so untill people get good music no need to worry on such crapiest subject on lifting music (more than this there is much to do in India to improve why dont u guys do some thing like creating music)

Shut Ur Mouth

hello.... Wat the hell r u speaking.. till A.R.Rahman is the best Music Director.. The Next part of lord of the Rings's music is done By A.R.Rahman... And ur telling that copy cat..that he is the big music director?...
