Movies releasing in March...Big & Small!

In March, we have two big releases - Black & White and Race. While Black & White is a very untypical Subhash Ghai movie, Race belongs to the genre Abbas-Mustan have mastered over years. Black & White stars Anil Kapoor and Shefali Chhaya in pivotal roles and introduces Anurag Sinha and Aditi Sharma. Releasing this Friday (Mar 7, 2008) it's directed by the showman himself and has music by Sukhwinder Singh. Anil Kapoor has another major release in Race on Mar 21. So, in a way it's a very crucial month for Anil Kapoor, who has defied his age for long and is still very much in demand. This is what we say "lambi race ka ghoda....jhakkkkas!" Besides him, Race also stars Saif Ali Khan, Akhsaye Khanna, Katrina Kaif, Bipasha Basu and Sameera Reddy. The songs by Pritam Chakraborty have already raced up the music charts. Let's hope the movie also does as well as its music.

In between these two major releases, we also have 26th July at Barista releasing on Mar 14. I have not seen much of the promos of this one but going by the title and its poster, it does seem like some take on Mumbai heavy rain on 26th July last year. Most of its starcast is new including the director Mohan Sharma, who I believe was a lyricist in some movies earlier. Towards the end of the month we have another lesser known movie Hastey-Hastey starring Jimmy Shergill. It's surprising to see Jimmy Shergill in such movies. I thought he started off very well with Maachis, Mohabbatein, Mere Yaar Ki Shaadi Hai and Haasil but has gone into oblivion for quite some time now. But you never know which movie can do wonders. For eg. I really liked Mithya, My Name is Anthony Gonsalves and Manorama Six Feet Under of late. They were not big movies but they were really entertaining and worth watching. It's good to see that we have audience for different kind of movies now.

One Two Three also has a tentative release date in March. More on that later...Enjoy these movie until then...
