Top 5 Reasons Why RGV ki Aag Will Suck!!

Last night Sholay was going on, on Zee Tv and I put it on when Basanti takes Jai and Veeru to Thakur's house for the first time. Watching Basanti's chatter, my heart cringed to imagin Nisha Kothari in that role.
What a waste.
I ain't watching RGV's crap.

Very true. The only factor which will bring audience to theaters is Amitabh Bachchan and when he himself will disappoint as Gabbar or Babban, God save Ramu's sholay. And what can one say about Miss Nisha Kothari? If Ramu had any sense left, he should have had understood by now that sex alone does not sell that too with Antara Mali (Naach), Nisha (Shiva, James) and Miss Take Lite Zia (Nishabd) when even Urmila could not save Daud. The movie has to have some solid content as well (like Rangeela). For sure RGV knows that his days are over. He cannot even make good gangster movies anymore. Sarkar was his last good movie. Sarkar 2 might work. But RGV Ki Aag - no way.

I would still go watch it though.....I want to see how bad could it really be!!

you suck....this movie will be great.....Ram Gopal Varma made Sarkar as a remake of Godfather which was really good.....I think he's great at making remakes.....and he's definitely the best director in Bollywood today who could handle such a movie.....I'm looking forward to it....

This movie will suck for sure. Have absolutely no expectations. RGV is done as a director I think. And to think he made movies like Satya and Company.

All you hear about these days is remake of this remake of that...bollywood film makers have run out of originality.

Bollywood is as unpredictable as cricket. You never know until you see it. But I agree that the chances of RGV dishing even an average product this time are very bleak.

let me remind u.......CHAK DE INDIA is recepie of ..THE MIGHTY DUCKS+MIRACLE+PRIDE....if people can admire CDI...then why not AAG......its our own adaptation......just wait for the release and result....

AAG may fare well coz if movie like CHAK DE INDIA can do a fare business which was copied from THE MIGHTY DUCKS+PRIDE+MIRACLE.(a lot of dilouges were taken as such from MIRACLE),then y not AAG after all its our very own adaptation.....and not to forget RGV is still the one of indias best directors when it comes to directing the movies.......atleast better then that YASH CHOPRA..

Why did he change the name to RGV Ki Sholay?
Because he didn't want anyone to compare, it was the media playing around with the subject.

Miscasting - More than 75 percent of the job is done if the movie has a great cast?
He is dare enough and didn't want to fool the public, what happen to JBJ by Yashraj.

Amitabh Bachchan - the best Indian actor at present in a negative role?
That is good enough reason to go Watch!

Don was a good movie although not great but because of comparison and the heyvey by the media
kill the movie initially but later pick up a bit by word of mouth to average. Don't compare the movie
and you will enjoy alot more.

RGV, Amitabh in negative role, Ajay Devghan, Mohanlal and Sushmita Sen. What else do public want.
This movie is surely not great but I'm sure is worth watching.

The movie will suck if you go and watch it with " Sholay " baggage. Sholay simply can't be made again.
But if Ramu manages to adapt & weave the revenge drama, in an intersting screenplay and performances , he will have a chance. Remember him pulling off Sarkar , an adaptation of highly acclaimed blockbuster " Godfather".
If he is able to take our mind off the original "Sholay" in first few minutes ( Extremely challenging and difficult task) , the story might work.
The other way it can work is ,if he has spoofed the original in a most innovative way. Highly unlikely though, that he will try that. Even Ramu may not have the courage to Spoof " Sholay "

I am going to watch it as an independent movie and enjoy the references in the screenplay to the original .
Hope he pulls it off and gives us entertainment

Manu I wouldn't go and watch it with the baggage of Sholay if Ramu had not used the sholay name to get publicity initially......I agree on Sarkar he did a great job and I hope he does well with this one too because I really like him as a director.....I am just speculating that the movie will suck.....I'll wait for initial reviews, might end up saving my money on this one.....

This movie will not suck as u guys are saying. Here are my Top 5 reasons:

1. Casting: Who can better Amjad Khan if not Amitabh Bachchan? RGV has done the right thing. Mohanlal is highly underrated in Bollywood but I think he can play any role to perfection. Remember Company? He was the better than Ajay Devgan and Vivek Oberoi. Sushmita Sen is perfect for Radha's role. She has grace to carry it off. Ajay Devgan and Nisha Kothari could be the weakest link. But then it could be a Rangeela for Nisha, you never know.

2. Mehbooba song: You need one chartbuster and RGV has got that in Mehbooba. It really rocks. I can't stop listening to it. And surprise surprise - it has Abhishek Bachchan too :)

3. RGV the director: He has always been terrific with gangster kinda movies. This one is on the similar lines.

4. New characters in the remake: It's not a complete remake. Ramu has introduced new characters too. For eg. Sachin, who plays Gabbar Singh's brother.

5. Plus its Ramu's tribute to Sholay, not a remake of Sholay. Sarkar was also criticized like this before the release that what can Ramu do to a movie, which has been remade the most already. Result is for everyone to see.

So, guys chill out and don't make the mistake of writing off Ram Gopal Varma Ki Aag yet!!!

Take out the SHOLEY from your mind for 3 hrs ... Go n Watch AAG ... N see if you like it.

It wud b unfare to compare this movie with SHOLEY ... no one compares original DEVDAS with Bansali's one !! Though both r great in their own terms.

Star cast: It is the best one and is much more better than star cast which was pre-decided before RGV by other directors which starred bobby->dharm'Paji and Abhishek -->AB which wud hav definetly Sucked

MUSIC: may be ASLAM forgot the fact that blockbusters of RGV din't have song (Sarkar, bhoot)
and even if they have, they wont be heard more than a line or two in the movie ( company)

The music is C-R-A-P. The stunts are same ol same ol supermen strung on wires flying away at weird angles. No large scale marketing nor any glamorous, glossy photos with Nisha showing a leg. Amitabh looks like Fagin, a character straight out of Dicken's Oliver Twist. A marketing ploy? Maybe. Or is Ramu catering a remake for the rickshaw pullers?? Dunno. But I think this movie will end up surprising the critics.

Definitely RGV ki Aag will click...
RGV has done a brilliant selction of actors especially in the case of Amithab n Mohanlal...

i think the film will do good business at the box office.......we cant compare "sholay" with this one.........."sholay" was a classic & nothing can match iths calibre........amitabh as babban will sure be electrifying....sushmita sen was a perfect choice for radha.........i think the saving grace in this film would be Mohanlal.....with him enacting the role of narasimha it would surely be watchable....................for sure he will bring perfection to this role.......as we saw him in company....but the letdown for this film would certainly be nisha kothari and ajay devgan....................

why i like to watch RGV's movies is because he portrays's things in a certain raw truth...very very raw...that treatment is something new to Indian cinema...and he brought that revolution.

It is great to be critical but is greater to be honestly critical. You started off with an intention to look at all possible angles in which AAG would fail. To think that AB cannot be seen in a negative role seems such an immature thought.. People are already getting ready to see him be Babban or the erstwhile Gabbar. There is absolutely no point comparing the success rate of AAG with Sholay because even some of the best movies evermade in Bollywood still cannot match the success of Sholay. The success of Sholay is understandable for that stage of hindi cinema - a bit like the current Indian economy.. that keeps looking like 'booming' mostly because we all really love to think so and keep saying it over and over again. I don't deny the quality of Sholay but let's try be honest for a second and ask ourselves - ain't there similar movies that are as good as Sholay if not better?? The answer is Yes but box-office success is more about the timing than quality itself. Funnily enough, I think RGV's AAG will click for the exactly the same reasons that you raised but in the opposite direction:
Casting : Perfect - except that guy who is acting as Raj who I cannot comment upon 'cos I don't anything about him
Music : Pretty cool.. - catchy theme music., couple of songs good enough to listen to, other might click along when we watch them in the movie
Reasons for making: RGV is not the best director in India but he is definitely one of the best. He has tried many innovative models in the making films.. Some of them probably had little or no success but he atleast 'tried'.. He has the guts to try his ideas and the capabilities to sell his ideas to producers.. Afterall movies are all about innovation.. Everyone has their own way of making movies - take Sanjay L Bhansali for example - he cannot make a movie without expensive sets and costumes.. Infact he won't be able to sell his movies without spending loads of dough.. His one movie with minimal sets was BLACK but the interesting part is that BLACK is complete scene to scene remake of 'Miracle Worker' made over 3 decades ago in Hollywood. So if you consider contemporary directors of today and also look at how consistently successful each one has been - then we'll quickly realize RGV is next only to a few like ManiRatnam and hmmm.. who else? Please don't come back to me saying Yash Chopra and all those guys whose movies always have just rich people or middle class people with unshared Studio flats in London's Mayfair.
Setting up: Aslam bhai - SRK as DON was his worst role ever and it would have been so even if AB wasn't in the original.. Needless to say DON was Farhan's biggest failure as well. He is a brilliant director but he should not have gone anywhere near DON.. He is better with his 'Fresh' ideas like Dil Chahta Hai. As per the 'setting up' bit about AAG - without a doubt, RGV pulls more crowds and attracts more attention than many other big directors in Bollywood and that's just the starter. In the maincourse we have AB and Mohanlal who are being cited as 'will compete' but they are wise men and the would not try and outdo each other. Ajay Devgan's presence does not look good enuf to attract as much attention as AB and ML but might add some value. Nisha Kothari is probably the only one who does not seem to have no charisma whatsoever but this is the case usually with 'RGV's girls'.
Excuses:Lets not get personal here - RGV has attitude and there is no doubt about that - but he has attitude for the right reasons maite.. Honesty can often sound like arrogance.

ok all you judgemental haters that don't read the entire post and start talking shit about me......I did say that I like RGV as a film maker and you can only be disappointed by someone if you like them.....or are you guys so retarted to even figure that.....

I hope from the bottom of my heart that this movie be good because I like RGV as a director and he's the only one who could have pulled this off (at least going by his Sarkar track record) but I am just telling you what I feel......and you know what I haven't seen this movie but I've read 3 reviews so far - 2 stars, 1 star and 1 star......that's some great track record.....

and who said that don't compare it with Sholay? why not, when RGV can use the name to publicize the movie, why can't I, an honest paying customer, compare this with Sholay?

Ram Gopal Varma is the best director. He has changed the trend of movies in india. He is a gift for film industry and a guru for most of the comming directors. He have so many ekalavya shishyas. Every new director tries to become RGV, every actor wills to work with RGV. Tollywood never forgets his Shiva, Gaayam, Anaganagaa oka roju etc... He can do the best in case of Aag. He has proven himself in case of remake Godfather as sarkar. No doubt he will do better than the best. If we are surching mistakes then we will find them even in the moon. Finallly, Varma is the best. Aag will be the better than the best. From SriKrishna.

one of the most flop movie ever made.. very boring and u feel like pulling your hair while watching the movie. Victoria Number 203 is far better than Ramu's AAG.

spot on Aslam....those were exactly the reasons why the movie sucked so bad....at least according to the reviews I've read....

Bhalai ka zamaana hi nahin raha.....logon ko warn karo ki bhaiya mat dekho nahin to paise waste ho jayenge....to ulta mujhe hi gaali de rahe hain.....now the movie is being pulled out of the theaters and being termed as the biggest flop of our generation.....I know I am not a film expert, par itni film hamne bhi dekhi hai ki I sensed that a movie like RGV ki Aag had to flop.....baaki someone smart once said that Free Will is a B*tch so jisko jo man main aaye karo.....

RGV has involved a mega star cast without even considering whether his chosen star cast would actually fit into the shoes of veeru, jai, basanti and other characters including the main ''gabbar singh'' of the original evergreen hit ''Sholay''. As a consequence, anyone who actually views RGV's failed attempt to even get anywhere near the original movie wil realize that these characters are being potrayed terribly in his remake. Ajay Devgan, who plays the role of ''veeru'' played by the fantastic actor of yesteryears Dharmendra has not been able to even prove as a slightest reflection of the jovial and entertaining version of the character 'veeru' in this remake. He seems no different than the character 'jai' who is apparently supposed to be the serious kinda guy in the original movie. The character 'basanti' played by the versatile and amazing actress Hema Malini who is stil rememberd today for her fantastic performance in the original movie is played by some actress in RGV's remake who actually makes one despise the character 'basanti' and fills one with regret of having watched this newer version of ''Sholay''. Amitabh Bacchan is always rememberd as ''Jai'' of ''Sholay'' and one can never forget his character which was one of the strong reasons why it was a tremendous success in the yesteryears. However, his character in this remake version of RGV although being okay if it had been a totally different movie and not a remake of ''Sholay'' is actually not very impressive in this movie as it is a dissappointment to see him in the negative light. Again so many other characters in the movie when compared to the original Asrani, Sanjeev Kumar, AK Hangal, have proved to be a thorough dissappointment throughout.....

RGV probably should think on directing a movie on some new lines and stop remaking and copying scripts from hollywood movies, which can be seen in some of his most recent movies which have turned out to be huge flops. He should probably take a break and think of a solid story line before directing any movie which is a thorough dissappointment for the audience who looks forward to seeing some gud movies from him after having viewed his ''Rangeela'' and ''Satya''.

The songs in his remake version of ''Sholay'' are absolutely pathetic and in no way can be compared in the least to the original superhit and melodious songs of the original movie. The script is so badly written with dialogues that are unbelievably boring with not one memorable one that the viewer can remember after watching this remake version unlike in ''Sholay'' where there were so many of fantastic dialogue deliveries by the characters basanti, veeru, jailor asrani and evergreen gabbar singh.....

On the whole, the movie was a total disappointment for the viewers who were eagerly awaiting the release of this movie. No way can one relish watching this movie owing to the following reasons: the totally unlike characters to the original movie, absolutely no light moments throughout to make the viewers smile leave alone laugh, no good songs and last but not the least badly written script with nonimpressive dialogues and bad direction.

RGV ki Aag suckz!!!! and everyone denying this is a whiner screw u!
