Movie Preview: 1408

Swedish film director Mikael Hafstrom returns once again with his forthcoming flick “1408” based on the Stephen King short story of the same name. After thrilling audiences with “Derailed”, this time he’s all set to make them jump off their seats as the movie is full of jitters and shivers.

This spooky flick wraps the story of a renowned horror writer Mike Enslin (John Cussack) who, after writing a string of bestsellers focusing on supernatural phenomena, is quite keen to check out a mysterious room “1408” in a New York hotel by staying there, in order to work on his latest project “Ten Nights in Haunted Hotel Rooms”. Despite of the warnings of Hotel Manager, Mr. Olin (Samuel L Jackson), he decides to stay there and is tenacious enough to prove that the horrific past of “1408” is just a co-incidence. But will he be able to survive the night?

This spine-chilling thriller boasts of a great ensemble of cast with John Cussack (notable for his performances in “Being John Malkovich”, “Serendipity”, “Runaway Jury”, etc), Samuel L Jackson, Mary McCormack, Jasmine Jessica Anthony, Andrew Lee Potts and Len Cariou.

The screenplay has been penned by Matt Greenberg, Scott Alexander and Larry Karaszewski whereas cinematography is by Benoit Delhomme.

The movie is all set to bang the US theatres on June 22, 2007.. !!!
