Movie Preview : MR. BROOKS !!!

Kevin Costner is all set to play the role of a serial killer in his forthcoming flick “Mr. Brooks” directed by Bruce A. Evans. The movie also stars William Hurt, Demi Moore, Dane Cook and Danielle Panabaker.

The movie dishes the story of Earl Brooks (Kevin Costner) who is a philanthropist and a local business icon. Everyone considers him a perfect man. But Mr. Brooks conceals a baneful secret that he’s a voracious serial killer branded as “The Thumbprint Killer” and that too so clever that no one has ever suspected him- until now.

But during one of his murderous urge, he is witnessed by an amateur photographer Mr. Smith (Dane Cook) and finds himself entangled in his clamps. He is also hunted by the unorthodox and persistent detective Tracy Atwood (Demi Moore). Now can he dupe his enemies and conceal his double identities from his family including wife Mrs. Brooks (Marg Helgenberger) and daughter Jane (Danielle Panabaker)? Or will he be exposed by someone?

Two times Academy Award winner Kevin Costner, whose career has often been defined by playing stalwart characters in his earlier movies like “Dances with Wolves”, “Wyatt Earp”, “The Guardian”, etc considers this role of Mr. Brooks as unusually dichotomous character.

The screenplay has been penned by Bruce Evans and Raynold Gideon and weaves together a number of different thematic elements. The movie is all set to hit the theatres on June 1st, 2007.

The movie certainly promises to provide an entertaining thrill-ride…!!!

Re: Movie Preview : MR. BROOKS !!!

i had a feeling Costner would make some kind of a comeback; plus it's interesting how Dane Cook went from stand up comedian to starring in a ton of major movies
