Movie Preview: BUG !!

There is a fresh and a fascinating movie coming up that is slated for release late this May in the USA starring the very talented Ashley Judd. The movie is called “Bug” and features Michael Shannon, Harry Connick Jr., Lynn Collins and Brian O’ Byrne also.

It is captained by the Oscar winning director William Friedkin (who won for “The French Connection”) and is an adaptation of the play “Bug” by Tracy Letts. The movie falls in the genre of suspense, horror and drama as it gets darker and intense scene after scene.

Most of the action is shown to have taken place in an Oklahoma motel room where Agnes (Judd) and her supposed friend, comforter and lover Peter (Shannon) put up. Agnes is a waitress who is haunted with the thoughts of her violent ex husband (Harry Connick Jr.), and on the other hand Peter is an eccentric wreck, paranoid with the idea of wars, terrorist attacks and such likes; not to forget his struggle to deal with insects and bugs.

The movie verges on to grimmer angles and comments on the reality of reaching madness and a stage of schizophrenia in the face of today’s claustrophobic world. This work of art has already been showcased at a few film fests and undoubtedly has been praised and appreciated a lot. It has been given an MPAA rating “R” for disturbing images, violence, drug use, sexuality etc.

Strongly recommended only for serious cinema-goers!!!!
