Saawariya: Bhansali’s next big thing!!

After “Black”, Sanjay Leela Bhansali is now occupied with the production of his latest project called “Saawariya” that is scheduled to be out for the audiences in early November this year.
This movie stars an assortment of talents through diverse age groups. Ranbir Kapur, the son of Rishi Kapur and Sonam Kapoor, the daughter of Anil Kapoor will make a debut together in this movie as the lead couple, while the more mature screen presence will be shared by Salman Khan and Rani Mukherjee; however they are more of a supporting cast. Apart from them, the movie also brings to its frames the talents of Zohra Sehgal (as Ranbir’s grandmother) and Begum Para (as Sonam’s grandmother).
The movie has been written by Prakash Kapadia who was also the script and dialogue writer for Bhansali’s prior successes such as “Black” and “Devdas”. It is a romantic drama and based on the famous short story “White Nights” by the exceedingly acclaimed Russian writer Fyodor Dostoyevsky. “White Nights” is a beautiful and a poignant story that encompasses the ideas of love, dreams, loneliness, expectations, desires and memories.
This chronicle weaves a rich blend of emotions that surfaces the (symbolic) underground of those people who are crying out in their own silence and eager to be heard, yet most of the times, their voices only get lost in the ambience and so they are once again left to the companionship of their solitude world.
This story has been molded into a camera anecdote earlier also and one of the directors that did the same was none other but the legendary Italian director Visconti. Saawariya” is going to be the first motion picture in the history of the Indian film industry to be produced by a
After the intensity that Bhansali managed to pervade through “Black”, a remake of “White Nights” also seems like a good choice though we are sure, that the movie will have its own courses to run to cater to the requirements of the Indian cinema and its viewers. Nonetheless, all that we are wishing for is that a stirring story such as this one doesn’t lose its genuine essence, while trying to accomplish other things.
Thus as we keep are hopes soaring and our faith strong, all that can be said is that, it is a most striking piece of fiction in the hands of a competent director… this cinema is hard to resist!!!

IT IS GOING TO BOMB!!!
the story does not sound all that. i hope another big film comes out that time. rishi's kid is all hype as is anil's. but they don't have to worry because they are star kids and just like abjr they will get films (rishi's kid has three film contract with yash chopra productoins) so regardless of the box office failure or success of this film they will not lose. but in my opinion sanjay leela bansali is the most overrated director in bollywood. note most of his films are rip off of other films bearing khamoshi
1. hum dil de chuke sanam = rehash of woh 7 din
2. devdas = remake of devdas and a poor copy
3. black = miracle worker
where is the originality
Re: Saawariya: Bhansali’s next big thing!!
i being a literature student have studied dostoyevsky's story white nights in detail. it is not merely a love story but a story about the symbolic underground that has always been a subject of prime importance in all of dostyevsky's works. Prachi, u have very rightly said that "a stirring story such as this one doesn’t lose its genuine essence, while trying to accomplish other things". it is a beautiful story and hopefully Bhansali will do justice with it.
Re: Saawariya: Bhansali’s next big thing!!
I think Saawariya is going to be an emotional drama with powerpacked performances. The music is bound to be something excellent. I have huge expectations from Bhansali this time. I thought HDDCS, DEVDAS, BLACK and KHAMOSHI were great pictures. My personal favorite being BLACK.
Saawariya looks good from the first promo and it has generated huge curiousity which will work in its favor. The picture will unfold in November and the wait for love will finally be over.
Cheers to SLB>
