Temperature Rising: Mila Mila

Remember Tata Young? Un-haan sure, how can you forget that babe who set the screens on fire with her Dhoom Dhoom song in Dhoom! She is back with the release of her new album named 'Temperature Rising'. The album features 12 tracks and is supposedly a mix of various ethnic beats. I do not own the album as yet, so this is not a review of the album. An interesting song made its way into the album titled 'Mila Mila', composed by none other than Sandeep Chowta (Composer of 'Mast', quite known for his background scores as well for movies from Ramu factory). I got hold of that one though and I must say, kudos galore to Sandeep Chowta, who is crawling into the international scene slowly and is working on a special tune for Beijing Olympics 2008.

This song is just plain awesome, in the fact that you can discretely hear Sitar, Tabla and the flute and pretty much every instrument included in the score. Although primarily backed by the tabla, watch out for that Sitar work, its excellent. An excellent fusion of classical and pop notes. The lass herself was in Mumbai to record and shoot for this song, some time last year.

Here is a snippet of the video, it sure does raise your temperature, beware!

Re: Temperature Rising: Mila Mila

After the MTV bang, songs are just not listened, they are watched.

If Lata Mangeshkar had been "performing" (not just plain singing, but "performing" you idiot) in today's music industry, she would have to shed those clothes of her, wear only minis, micro minis, even just "PANTY's" and "BRA's". Imagine a LATA MANGESHKAR in "chaddi" and "BRA". She would look horrible, but bare skin watching addicts would still watch her, as the saying goes, "Angrezi nahi mili to kyaa, Desi se kaam chala lenge".

Actually it is very easy nowadays for singers, who dont have to perfect their nasal chords, by practicing in the wee hours of early morning, who dont have to strive for mastery for singing in all the three octaves, who dont have to learn the exact pronunciation of a particular language. They just have to tone up their bodies with a few hours of gym, and a few extra hours in a beauty saloon, thats it.

Pandit Bhimsen Joshi, wasted his entire lifetime in trying to achieve something which is not considered worthwhile in todays music scenario.

Ustaab Bismillah Khaan died like a street-side side beggar after living a life of hardship and plain idiotic simple way of life (no use for today's show world). What is this silly title PANDIT's and USTAAD's anyway, which sounds like a village musician, who has no ambition to "make it big"?

And who said music is for BHAKTI towards God, M S SUBBULAKSHMI got the Bharat Ratna award is an insult in itself. How can she get an award when she is always fully wrapped in a saree? Not even an inch of her skin shows.

M. Balamuralikrishna looks so horrible and outright ugly, how can he enter the show business, even if he has perfect mastery in all the three octaves?

All these singers have no place in todays music industry, because they cannot raise the temperature like TATA YOUNG does by removing all her clothes.

agnipankh, u r sick!

Re: Temperature Rising: Mila Mila

Yeah I am sick, because I am a little outdated, because I have not yet developed a keen eyesight for the visuals in the music videos. Although my ears are well conditioned to appreciate true quality of a singer.

Like they say, the difference between eyes and ears is just about 3 inches.

Re: Temperature Rising: Mila Mila

I don't think Tata Young is more popular than Lata Mangeshkar.....so I am not sure what was the reason of that tirade? I think your intentions are good, but you have this great ability to compare unrelated things and bring Indian culture into every discussion.....

think of it this way and I hope this will calm you down....every person in this world has a right to make money by using their talents and if that talent happens to be their body so be it.....their's an audience out there that loves performers like Tata Young.....and if I am watching her video I am only watching the video....I don't give a shit if she can't sing like Goddess Sarasvati....on the other hand if I am listening to Lata then Im just doing that for her voice and I hope she never takes off her clothes....coz that would be very disturbing....

the other issue you raised is about talented artists not getting their due.....then I should say welcome to capitalist, marketing driven economy my friend.....if your skill is not marketable than you basically have no skills....doesn't matter how talented you are......no offense to the legends you mentioned.....but think about it.....if people don't want to listen to something you think is legendary doesn't make today's generation moronic......if you don't want to die like a beggar then give them something they like....its their money and if they want to throw it on Tata Young and not on Lata it's their call.....

Re: Temperature Rising: Mila Mila

the song is actually a song in a tamil movie called super *ing ayesha takia & nagarjun. It has been composed by the same composer sandeep chowta and now it has been remixed with new singer and lyrics but the original one was better.
