Aamir-Akshay take a burpy ride

Aamir Khan and Akshay Kumar are back! Nope, not together but separately with their new ad campaigns for Coke and Thums Up respectively. While Aamir is in a whole new avatar of a no non-sense grey haired railway attendant, Akshay Kumar is shown performing James Bondesque action directed by Chris Anderson of MI-III fame.
The new coke ad is directed by Prasoon Joshi and shot by Ram Madhvani with the background score given by Shankar, Ehsaan and Loy.
Here's a video clipping from CNN and let us know what you think of these new summer campaigns...

Re: Aamir-Akshay take a burpy ride
Not seen the Akshay Kumar ad yet.
As far as the Amir Khan ad goes, here is what I think.
According to English customs it is considered bad manners to drink tea making sound, but most Indians do drink tea making sounds.
Also according to the English eating with ones own hand is not civilized way to eat, as most English men consume meat which is best eaten with a fork, but most of the Indians are vegetarian and eat with their hands, example - try eating chapati with a fork.
Likewise Hiccups are considered bad manners in English custom, but Indians don't really notice whenever someone hiccups.
In this Amir Khan ad it is shown that whether it is a modern college going headphone wearing youngster, or a working woman, or a businessman, or a turban wearing villager, or a railway attendant, they all are same as far as the habit of hiccups goes.
The heart of this ad is the notion that hiccups are bad manners, which is an English notion, not an Indian. So basically this ad is a RACIST ad, with a foreign perspective of mannerisms, and done with a bad taste.
Re: Aamir-Akshay take a burpy ride
Aam Bhartiya admi didn't they teach the difference between hiccups and burps at your english etiquette class?
Re: Aamir-Akshay take a burpy ride
Ok I admit my English is weak, but anyway u got what I was trying to say, that's it. Yeah you are right it is burp not hiccup.
Re: Aamir-Akshay take a burpy ride
sorry didn't mean to be an asshole.....but the fact that you are deriving racist overtones in this ad is ridiculous.....no offense dude
Re: Aamir-Akshay take a burpy ride
let us reverse the case....
Let us imagine something we Indians consider bad manners and English men don't, and then try to make an ad about it.
For example,
Indians (Hindus, sikhs and muslims) remove their footwear before entering their respective temple, gurudwara or masjid.
But English Christians dont remove their footwear while entering a church.
Suppose we show a bunch of English men entering a church one by one with their footwear, and then show guilt on their faces, guilt of doing a bad behavior, guilt of doing bad manners. Although we all know according to them it is not at all bad. But in the ad we will force our Indian perspective of mannerism upon them. And then we will show all English men accepting their guilt and saying that they are all same.
What do you think the reactions will be of the English people to this ad?
Re: Aamir-Akshay take a burpy ride
that has to be the LAMEST thing I've ever heard in my life......for one last time that ad is not racist
