Your favorite romantic films?

Do you know what is Ram Gopal Varma's favorite romantic movie? Well, to set the records straight, he does not have any. Yes, in his own words "I've no favourite romantic films. I don't like romantic films!" That's ok Ramu. We understand you have your favorite romantic heroines - to kya hua - that you don't like romantic films! Oh wait, this is no post on Ramu. But on your favorite romantic film. So, getting back to the topic, Romeos and Juliets, post your comments below and let everyone know that - haan, mohabbat hai...mohabbat hai...!

To begin with, let me put some of my favorite romantic movies and the reasons I love them. Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak takes the top spot without even me thinking twice. I was in school and this was the first movie I wanted to watch again and again. Wasn't Juhi Chawla so sweet? Hmmm, I think I'll have to rethink here. Hero was in fact the first movie, where I instantly fell in love with Meenakshi Sheshadri. Actually Bollywood has produced so many love classics that it's becoming difficult for me to select only a few. Kaagaz Ke Phool and Pyasa - tragic yet so romantic. And what about Ek Duje Ke Liye and Bobby? Muqaddar Ka Sikander has to be my Amitabh favorite romantic movie. Wasn't it modern day Devdas?

And, but of course, Casablanca from Hollywood! Well, I do not think I should be telling reasons for this one!

On this Valentines Day, let's write down our favorite romantic films as a tribute to love. But no Salaam-e-Ishq, please!

Re: Your favorite romantic films?

My choice for best Romantic films depends on how well the chemistry is knitted in the scene, the intensity of the emotion, the spark in the eyes. etc etc....

Two english movies come instantly in my mind........
1. Matrix :- Although matrix was better known as an Action film, Neo and Trinity carried out their emotional bonding very well.
The love develops in the first part of the Triology when Trinity brings back Neo from the jaws of death, in the second part it is the case of Neo helping Trinity when she was about to die. Also shown in the second part is the scene where Neo is required to kiss the wife of the Frenchman, Trinity gets jealous, Jealousy depicts possessiveness not willing to share their partner with any one else, this scene was enacted superb by Trinity just using her deadly gaze, the look.
The third and final part of the triology - Matrix Revolutions has a scene wherein Trinity is shown dying in the arms of Neo. This scene is my favorite romantic scene, it shows clearly the love for each other, the fear of separation when someone you love is dying.
2. Titanic :- Tremendous acting again when Jack is dying in the cold waters and Rose feels so helpless just to see him dying unable to do anything, And then the famous one liner "Never Let Go" - the wish of a dying man telling his love to maintain the will to live without him.

Our own hIndi film has some gems as well.

1. Maine Pyar Kiya :- the only film in which Salman does some intense scenes with honesty true to its character. Bhagyashree also excels. According to some estimates this film was an instant hit all over the world, especially in Spain where it was released as "Te Ammo". The title track was hugely popular among the teenagers across the globe. Facts tell themselves about the quality of this beautiful film.
2. Deewana :- I must admit Rishi Kapoor looked older with his tummy romancing a young Divya Bharti, but the way Divya Bharti naughtily says "Maar Daloongi" many times in the film along with the melodious songs is reason enough for anyone to admire this film.
New films I liked the slowly developing love between Madhavan and Samita Bangargi in "Ramji Londonwaley".

I dont like any of the Karan Johar or Yash Chopra films including Kabhi kabhi and silsila, although in India they are considered as romantic film makers.

Humko Deewan Kar gaye

well i think that film was hit because it was such emotion film i ever so and the music was really happy and sad so i think i would give an vote to an award.

i don't like going to the washroom in Mumbai
