Bachchan or Depp? Take your Pick

By now everyone has probably heard that Big B has given the nod to play the role of a gangster, Kaderbhai in Mira Nair's upcoming movie, Shantaram, opposite one of the most talented actors in the world, Johnny Depp. Even though it's been all over the media, it's a little tough for me to believe that this will actually happen. I mean we've heard similar announcements in the past and nothing happened.
Anyways let's assume it is happening and talk about a more interesting question - who will steal the show? and whether Hollywood will take notice of the gem we know as BigB ?(not that he needs any validation, but I am sick and tired of media calling Jack Nicholson, Al Pacino and Robert De Niro as the best old men out there and constantly leaving Big B out)
Obviously the role of the lead character will be strong, otherwise we wouldn't have had half of Hollywood lining up for it and Bachchan's character has to be pivotal, otherwise he wouldn't have signed the movie. So no matter who steals the show, it'll be a treat to watch the two guys going at it. So I think the question about who will be better will be best answered by the fans when they watch the movie. But Amitabh's real value in this movie is not his acting, I mean this won't be like an Om Puri type of entry into Hollywood. I think Mira Nair has just added $50 Million or more to the opening weekend earnings of her movie by signing Big B (assuming it'll bring in 5 million additional Indians to the theatre). She gets "mad props" for making that casting call and this is where Big B's big value is to the movie. I am sure the character of Kaderbhai could be played by any other seasoned Indian actor, but by adding Amitabh she has raised the stature of this movie from an art house release to a blockbuster. That is something which Johnny Depp wouldn't have achieved on his own.
Whatever is the future of the movie, this is the first announcement in weeks that got me very excited and it's easy to figure why. When you've grown up loving movies as much as I do and you come across a movie that will add to the greatness of your favorite film icon, you have to be thrilled. In addition getting a chance to watch him go head to head with one of the top actors of our times is a dream come true for any Big B fan. I personally think that if Mira Nair delivers then Big B has a great chance of getting an Academy nomination ( Not that its a validation blah blah blah...but its a nice to have). Here's to another feather in his already "feathered" cap!!

Big B in Shantaram!!! Wow, thats cool! Yes, u r right Mr Sunil, it's high time western media acknowldeges Amitabh Bachchan in the same league as Robert de Niro, Pacino & Jack Nicholson. They would be surprised to know that number of tickets sold for Amitabh's movies over the years would outdo all other stars combined together in Hollywood. That's no mean achievement by any standard!

Re: Bachchan or Depp? Take your Pick
Although past performance does not guarantee future accomplishment, it is still the best forecaster. Considering Big B’s past, two things are very clear, i) He fumbles when in a scene with an almost equal or better actor and ii) He is very monotonous when pitted against an actor who has a wider range of expressions. Hence on both counts it appears that Mr. Depp will go medieval on Big B. If Dilip Kumar took Big B to an acting school in Shatki; and SRK manhandled Big B in Mohabattein, then Mr Depp who is a far more astute actor than most will most certainly…….may the good lord have mercy on Big B.
For Big B to stand out, everyone else has to intentionally sit down. Unfortunately for Big B fans, Mira Nair (and the studio) will not be paying Mr. Depp to roll over and play dead. Unfortunately for Mr. Depp’s fan (I am one of his fans), this is going to be too one sided. It is a match between a professional and an amateur. I fight between a world heavy weight champion and a country bumpkin.

Re: Bachchan or Depp? Take your Pick
Shan you must be smoking some serious shit.....when you say that Dilip Kumar was better than amitabh in shakti and SRK in mohabbatein Oh Puhleez.....I saw that movie twice and everytime SRK comes in front of Amitabh you can see a little puddle of pee where puppy khan is standing.....and the world knows that Dilip Kumar was the most over rated actor of all times.....
by making that statement about amitabh you are not insulting him but Johnny Depp and all his fans because they have to share the same room as you.......you ignorant fuck.....
and you didn't have to publish that comment twice.....once was enough to prove how big of an idiot you are
Re: Bachchan or Depp? Take your Pick
Mr Shaan Khan, you don't even make me laugh by your stupid comments. Know what, in Shakti Amitabh gave the most underplayed performance ever by any actor. And was he good? Ask Dilip Kumar, who never dared to act opp Big B after that....
Btw, do u even know that the best supporting actor awards have been won most by actors in Big B's movies? Just by standing next to Big B in a frame makes them noticeable and they win those awards.
Just for your kind information, in Mohabbatein Big B was playing so called "negative" role. Yet he made look like his thoughts made more sense. You go to school for education and not for writing love letters on those leaves. His performance was too much for SRK to handle.
Johnny Depp, or for that matter, any actor, cannot overshine Amitabh Bachchan. No way!
Re: Bachchan or Depp? Take your Pick
The bitch slapping that Dilip Kumar gave Big B in Shakti become the watermark that set the beginning of his second innings in Bollywood. He won many awards for Shakti and went on from strength to strength till health problems and age related realities made him excuses himself from active duty. To DK to this date belongs the record of the most hits when compared as a percentage to his outings. Unfortunately, Shakti for Big B was the beginning of the end of his first innings. It was like Mike Tyson loosing for the first time. Suddenly everyone started talking about the queerness in Big B’s acting ability. I must say that I am reminded of that scene from the movie, Airport, where everyone lines up to slap the hysterical passenger. It was Shatki that made people realize that Big B crumbles under competition. It was Shakti which coined the phrase that for Big B to stand out, everyone else has to intentionally sit down. Yet it was SRK to whom belongs the title of the Dragon Slayer. By the time Mohabbatein came along it was a foregone conclusion that Big B was about to be manhandled. Basically, SRK plunged the burning cross into Big B’s heart. Today it is very difficult to watch Big B humiliate himself and corrode the last vestige of his remaining credibility. It is like watching a lame horse struggle to cross over the finish line. It hurts because this horse used to win races once upon a time. It hurts because I loved this horse once upon a time. It hurts to acknowledge that Big B’s era is now long over. Someone needs to show some mercy and turn this lame horse into glue. I think Mr. Depp will be that person.
Re: Bachchan or Depp? Take your Pick
we'll you've already proven that you are ignorant, but I think you need some professional help too.....the only good movie that Dilip Kumar did in his "so called second innings" in bollywood was Mashaal where he was slapped around by Anil Kapoor......(oh yes Karma too where Anupam Kher outshone everyone -not to mention that he had 3 younger actors and 3 young actress draggin his old ass around)
again a history lesson....Mohabbatein and KBC was at the time when Big B was beginning his real second innings after awful movies like Lal Badshah.....and trust me his second innings is way better than the entire career of Dilip Kumar and Shahrukh Khan combined.....
oh yes about those awards.....even Kumar Sanu won a ton of awards....doesn't make him a great singer....Dharmendra won just one award and Scorcese hasn't won any awards.....doesn't make them bad in anyway.....
if you have a personal grudge with the B then say so.....don't come out here with moronic arguments and prove to the whole world how big of a retard you are......
Re: Bachchan or Depp? Take your Pick
In 2005 alone, Big B gave 4 hits - Black, Waqt, Bunty Aur Babli and Sarkar. I cant think of any other actor who can give 4 hits in an year and that too at 64. SRK has at best given 3 hits in one year. That don't even come close to Big B's 8 in 1982. So be it past or present, there ain't no match.
Now bugger, coming back to your stupid comments abt Dilip Kumar's 2nd innings, here's an eye-opener for u. He did 13 movies in that period. Some hits some major flops. U can say the good ones or hits were Kranti, Vidhata, Shakti, Karma and Saudagar. That's it! Only 5 in total. Big B's 2nd innings started with a dud like Mrithyudata but went from strength to strength post Mohabbatein.
Your comment: "Big B to stand out, everyone else has to intentionally sit down" makes no sense. Big B is too tall. His whole persona is too tall. His power packed performances are too tall. Scripts are written for him. Others are filled in. They stand no chance in the first place. You notice them simply because they are in the same frame as Big B.
Dilip Kumar hammed in Shakti. His was author backed role. Still Big B stole the thunder.
As for any other actor overshining Big B in any movie - I can think of only one. Govinda in Bade Miyan Chhote Miyan. But then Big B was going thru the worst phase.
Re: Bachchan or Depp? Take your Pick
Wow we have some avid fans and good arguments flowing......
Shaan by saying that Big B is getting worse in his second inning I think you've lost a lot of credibility because that ain't the truth.....comparing performance is very subjective so you can go on until eternity and you still won't reach a conclusion whether big B was better or Dilip Kumar was better....its very grey....
I do agree that Johnny Depp is a great actor, but no actor is bigger than the role he plays so if he has a stronger role in the movie....he'll definitely outshine Big B....case in point Bhiku Mhatre in Satya and Hrithik Roshan in Dhoom 2 (even Vivek Oberoi in company to a certain extent).....but making broad generalizations is pretty inane and if you are a serious movie buff then you should stay away from it....because that's what amateurs do....
who did better in Mohabbatein? honeslty I don't give a shit....because that was one awful movie....even Big B for his persona and shahrukh for his charm couldn't bring that dud to life.....
however shakti is a different movie......both Big B and Dileep Kumar played their roles to perfection and were ably supported by Rakhi and Smita Patil....the reason why Dileep Kumar won an award is because of that press and filmfare BS. I mean Shashi Kapoor won an award for Deewar so that argument is pretty lame too....
What you need to realize is that no actor other than Amitabh (maybe only Jack Nicholson) has delivered so many power packed performances after crossing 50-55.....so give credit where its due.....and don't make arguments for the heck of it.....
Re: Bachchan or Depp? Take your Pick
hit %....what the fuck does that mean? Does Bollywood ever releases real numbers for movies to even come up with that number.....or are you just pulling it out of your ass.....prison sex boy??
DK has more hits because when he was a star every movie was a hit movie.....there were just three real actors at that time.....name one Raj Kapoor movie before Mera Nam Joker that was a flop? or called a flop? exactly......none.....
if you call Ek Ajnabee a well made movie....then we should just end the conversation right here....because it was a pure caricature of Man on Fire (which wasn't that good of a movie either)....
and dude Amitabh and Dilip Kumar were superstars when the overseas market didn't exist so comparing Don's collection with anything they've done in 70s and 80s is very stupid....and for the record Babul had the biggest opening in UK ever.....and it wasn't a SRK movie neither was it a Yash Raj movie.....guess who was in it?
Re: Bachchan or Depp? Take your Pick
Mr Shaan, are you kidding me? Don was a good movie or even a genuine hit? It did just about average business and that too because there was certain Amitabh Bachchan associated with the earlier Don. You are totally out of senses. No point in arguing with you who gives such shitty comparisons.
What do u mean by hit%??? Amitabh's flop movies made more money than others' hit movies. And even those so-called flop movies went on to become hits in re-runs after Amitabh started ruling the industry in late 70s. He ruled till 1992 and then took a self-imposed break. And since 2000, he's been ruling again. Dude, just look at the number of hits (or good movies) he is giving every year:
Aks
Ek Rishta
K3G
Aankhen
Kaante
Baghban
Khakee
Dev
Black
Waqt
Bunty Aur Babli
Sarkar
Viruddh
Babul
and many more to follow...like Eklavya, Nishabd....
Where are you getting your facts from? Amitabh makes more money thru endorsement even at this age. Last year he made 19 crores while your king khan made only 13 crores. As for number of hits, even Akshay Kumar has given more hits than SRK. As for fan following, Salman Khan rules there. His dud movies also turn out to be hits. So where does that leave SRK??? No where!
And just watch out - it's another 2-3 years for SRK before he totally fades away...just like Rajesh Khanna...whereas Big B would still be reigining when u r using viagra. or u already do? so, see he is ruling. i told ya.
Re: Bachchan or Depp? Take your Pick
It is said that sunlight is the best disinfectant. Although this is about Big B and Mr. Depp, let us shed some light on Big B vis a vis DK and SRK to help comprehend what awaits Big B. In my mind what Mr. Depp is about to do to Big B in Shantaram, should that materialize, can only be described as “Prison Sex”. Anyway we will get to that in a minute. Let us first establish the background.
DK Vs Big B
SRK Vs. Big B
For the sake of full disclosure, I would like to mention that I consider SRK to be the best star actor that Bollywood has even seen. But I want to also add that I think Mr. Depp is a far better star actor than even SRK. I think his Jack Sparrow will be studied by students of acting (along with his other works) for years to come. Who could have thought about playing a pirate, which till that time was always done in a very macho fashion, as a drunken effeminate person? Who could have carried it so well that it is hard to recognize him as the person also in Charlie and the Chocolate factory? Hence I say that what Mr. Depp is about to do to Big B (should that match take place) can be recorded in the annals of history as “Prison Sex”.
Re: Bachchan or Depp? Take your Pick
Shaan,,,, Your comments are far less hilarious. You seem like an uneducated person who is commenting on economics of the world.
If you want to play with statistics..here is what i have.
Big B has been nominated 28 times for the category of Best Actor....the record never been surpassed so far.
Btoh Dilip Kumar and Big B were nominated for best actor in Shakti. The fact it was won by Dilip kumar does'nt prove that he outshined BigB. The year was 1982. Big B was nominated as best actor for 3 movies...Bemisaal, Namak Halal and shakti. The other two actors nominated were Dilip Kumar and Naseeruddin Shah for Masoom. That proves a lot about Big B.
As Sunil rightly pointed out...Big B deserves an international applause for what he has achieved through his skills, charisma and personality.
Srk is a puppy in front of him who gets crappy nominations for movies like KANK and Don-2.
So, get your mental condition checked for Big B is going to stay and come up with more and more power backed performances and check out for "The fall of srk" in next 3-4 years.
Re: Bachchan or Depp? Take your Pick
For those requiring "extra hand holding" , the above can be discussed in details.
Re: Bachchan or Depp? Take your Pick
OMG I am soooo looking forward to this movie.....two of my fav. actors in the world together.....I can't ask for more.....
good arguments above guys.....par shaan uncle kuch aage bhi to bolo.....you are repeating your points like a broken tape recorder......
Re: Bachchan or Depp? Take your Pick
Alice, this is about wining the hearts and the mind. I make my case and you make yours. You have equal opportunity to convince me. But you cannot convince me by stating total fabrications or attacking me.
Let us put it this way, I will not tie your laces, neither will I do your homework, or spoon feed you. The only thing I promise is that I will give a provocative whack on your head (no malice intended). At this point consider that you have been whacked.
Ladies, the ball is in your court. I have summarized my position in my previous post. I will respond to your arguments, but please don’t try on some pseudo responses, or fabricated statistics or repeat your arguments under multiple names.
Re: Bachchan or Depp? Take your Pick
Apparently all the statistics you have quoted are proven and recorded somewhere.....I am sure there is a clerk somewhere with a file that says how SRK slapped Big B around in Mohhabbatein....and what is the hit % age of each actor.....:-)
I'd be interested to know if you have specific examples of how Amitabh fumbled in the face of competition ( scenes where he was overshadowed etc.) or does your style of arguing involves repeating those inane arguments over and over again.....I think your arguments have been answered by a lot of commenters above.....so stop sounding like a broken record and respond to what Ankur and others have to say.......
Re: Bachchan or Depp? Take your Pick
Hit % is the funniest thing I've heard recently.....i want to write a post on that....what does it mean and what are the numbers behind such a metric.....could be an interesting HBS case study....:-) I think I need some extra hand holding to understand this.....
Re: Bachchan or Depp? Take your Pick
Mr Shaan Khan, i (and some others) already gave counter arguments to all your points. Come with new reasoning now...
wait n watch for tomorrow's Eklavya and see for yourself who's the biggest of all, if u still have any doubt. SRK is not even the best among his contemporaries - Aamir, Salman, Saif, Akshay....also Govinda, Sanjay Dutt - they all are much better and versatile than him. leave alone Big B.
Re: Bachchan or Depp? Take your Pick
Hey guys u cannot compare Johnny Depp with Amitabh Bachchan. They are totally different class.
In the first place, no two actors should ever be compared. But even if u want to - for the heck of doing it, Shahrukh Khan is no match to Amitabh Bachchan. SRK should learn from the failure of Don. And also his KBC is not doing that great as compared to Big B's KBC. Even SRK admits that. TRP ratings started falling after the initial hype. Remember, there used to be like curfew during KBC1. Although SRK is doing a decent job and trying his best, his best is not good enough.
But I would like to add one point here - Dilip Kumar was best in his times, Amitabh in his, and SRK in his. It's another thing that it's again Amitabh's time now.
50s, 60s - Dilip Kumar
70s, 80s - Amitabh Bachchan
90s - Shahrukh Khan
2000s - Amitabh Bachchan, again
Re: Bachchan or Depp? Take your Pick
Ok here's my take.....first of all this is not about Dilip Kumar and SRK so let's not drag them in....they are both big stars and rightfully so.....also by saying that because Dilip Kumar was better than Amitabh in one movie so Johnny Depp will kick his ass....you are not only insulting Amitabh, but Dilip Sahab as well.....so this argument is flawed.....
infact this whole argument about past performances being indicators of future is very stupid....look at Saif Ali Khan he did Aashiq Awara and no one would have imagined him in Omkara.....
I think Sunil is right when he says it all depends on the role.....and the director who she wants to be stronger....Another example is Joe Pesci and De Niro in Casino and Raging Bull.....if you just watched Casino you'll think Pesci is stronger than De Niro but thats not true in Raging Bull it was the opposite.....The real test for any actor is after a performance you remember the character and not the actor who did it....I have complete faith in both Amitabh and Johnny Depp to do that.....Dilip Kumar did that (more so later in his life).....SRK is little limited in that because he can't play a poor ordinary guy anymore because of Michael Jackson type makeover....:)
So let's just calm down and wait for the movie and pick up the debate then.....
Re: Bachchan or Depp? Take your Pick
I heard Russell Crowe wanted to do this movie.....he might have been a misfit.....Johnny Depp is a good choice.....has anyone read this book?
Re: Bachchan or Depp? Take your Pick
yeah Russell Crowe wanted this film so bad that he bought all the rights to the novel and is now producing it along side Brad Pitt's production company.....this one could be really interesting. IMDB has listed Chunky Pandey in the movie as well.....wonder what that clown will do in the movie....
Re: Bachchan or Depp? Take your Pick
when is this one coming out?
Re: Bachchan or Depp? Take your Pick
Chalk up one more flop to Big B's account. Hate to say, "I told you so". Nonetheless for those requiring extra hand holding, this is how Big B runs up his flop %age. The million dollar question is, did Big B come or go last Friday ? Ek-love-ya, no baba no, I cannot spare any love for this dud. This appears worse than even Ek Ajnabee. Atleast P.K. Gaa had something good to say about Ek Ajnabee.
Re: Bachchan or Depp? Take your Pick
Depp is great! but Amitabh is no less.
Re: Bachchan or Depp? Take your Pick
Nothing matters. Let us hope, atleast in this movie, Bachchan changes his routine style of acting. Many are sick of his monotonous acting style. How long one could watch his routine bull shit?
Re: Bachchan or Depp? Take your Pick
I don't think the routine acting is his fault.....directors and script writers can't find different roles for him....and when he steps away from playing a patriarch - for ex in Nishabd, Cheeni Kum etc. people say why does he need to do those roles......give the guy a break....he's friggin 65 and still entertaining.....how many 65 year olds do you know who do that.....even Robert De Niro has done only one maybe two good movies in last 10 years......and Al Pacino came in Simone which basically says he's over the hill
Re: Bachchan or Depp? Take your Pick
I really get sick of this creating a god of Amitab bach. Im not saying hes not good, in fact hes one of the best of all time in Indian cinema, but not what ppl make of him: the best. And dont even start comparing him with Al pacino or de niro. If u do that then u must be Indian, cus one who is objective can not be so dumb to do that. If theres one acting god, then its mr Marlon Brando, who even amitab bach self said that is the best of all time in the world. I know both cinemas (indian and western) very well and love them both, but i really get sick when indians make a god of amitab., its just a cultural thing of us to do that( purely patriotism, scary sometimes).
Re: Bachchan or Depp? Take your Pick
KWK I agree with you on the God part....but its fan talk and not because someone's Indian. You say that as if its a bad thing to be an Indian fan....wonder how many hollywood movie goers idolize talents in other countries....
Re: Bachchan or Depp? Take your Pick
To ravi:
Ur right that its fan talk, and of course there are fanclubs of other artists that idolize their idols etc. But none of them are so crazy to make a god of their idol and place it above everrrrrything. There is not ONE award show which doesnt feature amitab bachan, be it attending or to win an award. Dont u get sick of the godmaking shit on every indian channel about that dude?? Its just like they almost pretend that in the indian history nobody else acted lolllls, to them Dilip kumar, sanjeev kumar, etc etc didnt even exist. But that i still could take, but now it reallllllly gets freaky when indian ppl say that amitab is not only the best in india but the whole fcking world??? HOLY SHIT!! That really scares me. By the way im indian myself too, so that ppl dont think i say things just cus i dont like indians or indian cinema.
Re: Bachchan or Depp? Take your Pick
The Indian and the hollywood cinemas are as different from each other as possible. The theme, the presentation, the audience, the movie genre etc. not to mention the style of acting governed by the cultural brought up of the actors. The linguistic problem must also be taken into account. Having the movie presentation language as your mother tongue makes all the difference in the world when it comes to rendering your dialogues the way they should be rendered.
Thus, comparing any two actors of different industries and cultures seems quite unfair to both of them. I am pretty sure that Johnny Depp, or anyone from hollywood for that matter, cannot perform as perfectly as he generally does, in an indian movie and likewise for indian actors.
Regarding the range of acting capabilities, you donot know how would the indian actors perform when they are thrown into the queer roles we see in hollywood movies, the likes of Captain Jack Sparrow or Edward Ecissorhands etc. Because they have never been asked to do such roles. Never. Likewise, you donot know how would Al Pacino or Johnny Depp would perform when they are required to do roles like Don, Raj etc the way these have been done by Amitabh and Shahrukh.
Regarding the competition between Johnny Depp and Amitabh in Shantram, if this idea ever sees the daylight, Johnny Depp would have three overwhelming advantages. Firstly, the movie would be in English (his tongue), secondly it would be his turf (picture dimension-wise) and lastly it would be his movie (he would be the lead actor). No disrespect to the legend of Amitabh, but the fact of the matter is that hollywood people donot hold indian actors in any regard whatsoever and we would be surprised if Amitabh ever gets a decent and challenging enough role to prove his brilliance. I would love to be proven otherwise (regarding the role) when the movie hits the screen.
Re: Bachchan or Depp? Take your Pick
Kami good points there.....it's like comparing apples and oranges.....I think the two guys have proven enough in their careers already.....Im just excited about seeing them together....
to anonymous guy I don't think fans of dilip kumar and sanjeev kumar will ever forget their contribution....and I don't think even for a minute Amitabh thinks that he's better than them....a lot of this god status is also media contrived.....and the fact that the Bachchan family is a media whore feeds into it....but then I don't blame them....they have stiff competition with SRK who's a bigger media fiend and they both revel in anything that is written about them and don't miss an opportunity to make a public appearance.....
honestly the whole abhishek aishwarya marriage thing was sickening after a while....who gives a rat's ass if she married a peepal tree....for all I care she can marry a toad....then the whole thing about kiss with Hrithik (if you want to call it a kiss)....last time I checked media was full of gossip about how she and salman were making out in a restroom of a restaurant.....so they should drop this whole sati savitri act.....because both abhi and aish have been pretty busy sleeping around before they found each other....
Re: Bachchan or Depp? Take your Pick
Depp all the way! that man has way too much charisma and sexuality a woman with right mind can resist.
nothing offending to Mr. Bachchan, he's been my favourite since the first time i danced to his "Mere Angne mein tumhara kya kaam hai" at the age of 1-1/2 , but then again he's losing his wittiness with age. and peoples' undivided and exaggerated attention towards him makes me have an aversion as it makes younger talent less recognisable and less/unappreciated. also making his would-be-daughter-in-law marry trees and idols in this age seems to drive me away from him. the man who should stand up and be a role model to our conservative society is actually moving back to his cave. he makes education look like a worthless bauble by doing such thiongs and thats what saddens me.
Re: Bachchan or Depp? Take your Pick
it is really very pitiful to note that some Indians respect hollywood actors more than Indian actors. If they don't like bollywood movies then don't watch but don't try to insult Indian actors comparing them with western acotors. We know in western countries how these people were treated. They were treated as 2nd grade citizens but still they rave about the hollywood actors I just don't know how. It is really very shameful.
Re: Bachchan or Depp? Take your Pick
To anonymous from wed 1;31
U exactly proved my point i said in my first mail: the fact that most (not all thnk god) of we indians are so nationalistic that we think everything of our country is the best in the whole fcking world! THATS PITIFUL my friend!! I can truly say im ashamed that ur of my race seriously.
its not shameful to us but to our actors.
well our actors put themselves to shame by making their would-be-daughter-in-laws to marry idols and trees. well i dont know how people like you dont find that insulting to the whole FEMININE RACE?. when educated people and media who should take our society away from the dark ages commit such acts of insults, then how can a woman like me respect such people.
it seems you are on the race with such people to insult WOMEN and the whole of WOMANHOOD. people like you who support such "blind followers" are not only insulting the wombs that gave birth to you, but also one half of the human race as well.
Re: Bachchan or Depp? Take your Pick
Dilip Kumar is the "BHAGWAAN" of acting!!!
Re: Bachchan or Depp? Take your Pick
Mr.shan,
Ur an idiot , u dont know the fact that big b is the star of the millenium. He is the best actor in the world.
Do u know big b has given 6 silver jublie films in single year in 1978(a record). Can u ever imagine srk(idiot) can ever think of giving atleast single silver jublie in an year (just ddlj). In his era people used to carry big posters on big b,he was the actor who has given more hits than any of the actor in the world.Films such as Deewar,Don,Trishul,Agneepath,Kala pathhar,Sharabi,Namak halal,Namak haram,Amar akbar anthonyBlack . SRK IS MEDIA HYPED . AT THE TIME OF BIG B'S ERA THERE WAS NOTHING LIKETHAT.
SO PLZ GIVE RESPECT TO THE PERSON OF HIS CALIBER
Re: Bachchan or Depp? Take your Pick
Bachchan will steal the show take it from me. Depp has a bigger role and so he will make a mark considering he is a phenominal actor but he is nowhere near Bachchan. Bachchan's role is much much fascinating. Khaderbhai is character who leaves you in total AWE! And no one could have been a better choice for the role but AB! Cant wait to see him don the rolw of Abdel Khader Khan! WhY, not just an academy nomination, he may even win India's first Oscar(provided nothing gies wrong from Mira Nair's part). Making this movie is going to be a herculean task considering the fact that in the book, the real mumbai was shows so exceptionally. I am waiting for the movie to release. It will be only the next year but I am already dying for its release!
