25 odd successful movies out of 150+. that's still bad. i remember in 60s, 70s and early 80s the hit ratio was far better - more than 60%. but i agree 2006 has been the best year since mid 80s in terms of number of hits. Also, filmmakers are trying out new subjects. that's an healthy sign.

Some of these movies have done exceedingly good in some circuits than other like Baabul, Don, KANK in overseas territory, Vivaah in UP-Bihar, Khosla Ka Ghosla, Dor in Multiplexes. That says it all - audience is divided. Universal hits like Dhoom 2 are rare these days.
