Let's begin with the most popular of all - Best Actor and Best Actress categories.
At the end of this series we will publish the Top 5 Nominations and the Winners in each category. Remember this is by the people, of the people and for the people!!!
2007: Hits and Flops - Box Office Analysis

The year, which started good with Abhishek Bachchan's terrific performance in Guru, is ending on a positive note too with two successes - Aamir Khan's Taare Zameen Par and Welcome! While 2007 is no match to 2006, it still is not that bad either. We got to see some experiments - some worked while others bombed. On one hand Bheja Fry, The Namesake, Life in a Metro and SRK's Chak De India worked both critically and commercially but on the other hand No Smoking, Black Friday, Gandhi My Father, Nishabd, Johnny Gaddaar, Blue Umbrella, 1971 and Manorama Six Feet Under did not find many takers in the audience. Agreed, some of these were bad cinema but at least Bollywood is no more tied within the usual commercial limitations. That's a healthy sign!
Poll: Taare Zameen Par or Welcome?
Two major movies are releasing this Friday, Dec 21 - Taare Zameen Par and Welcome. I am sure most of you would be watching both of them but was wondering which one would be your first choice...So, let's have a poll. Vote for your favorite...
First Look: Tashan, Tasveer and Karzzzz....

I am not sure on the number of Zs in Karzzzz but it is really surprising to see Mr Reshammiya with no cap. In this remake of Subhash Ghai's blockbuster, Himesh Reshammiya is all set to prove that Aap Ka Surroorr (hopefully I have put corrrect number of Rs) is not just a flash in the pan!!! Another interesting movie on the block is Tasveer. Directed by Nagesh Kukunoor, it stars Akshay Kumar. I hope this Kukunoor movie is as special as all of his previous ones. Akshay Kumar has another one lined up in the form of Tashan (watch trailer here), a Yash Raj Films movie directed by Vijay Krishna Acharya also starring Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor besides Anil Kapoor in a negative role. Watch this space for more update on some of the eagerly awaited movies of 2008. For now have a look at their first released posters.
