SRK Will Host KBC - Lock Kiya Jaye?
It's final, SRK will take the ho(s)t seat from Mr. Bachchan in the ever popular show Kaun Banega Crorepati (KBC). Big B has been really busy with other projects and was not able to commit time for the show and eventually Star TV had to make the call.
According to Samir Nair, COO of Star TV, "we pursued Mr Bachchan for months. But he didn't seem to be very enthusiastic. In the meantime we acquired KBC rights in the season-format for years whereby we had to have the show on air for 52 episodes every year, or our rights lapsed . We just had to take a call. In the light of Mr Bachchan's response we had no choice but to think of someone else who was capable of taking on the mantle."
So the big question is whether SRK will be able to fit the big shoes or rather the big seat of Bachchan? According to Samir, "I think Shah Rukh will do a fantastic job. He'll bring his own unique charm to the show. Like Mr Bachchan, Shah Rukh is smart and bright. We all remember the celebrity episode on KBC which he did. It was one of our best episodes. He brought his own encyclopedia, did his research and almost won the crore. He'll bring a new spin to the show."
I personally think it will be really exciting to watch SRK do the show. There is no doubt that he's a charmer and will do a better job than anyone else. He has the star value and I don't think, the show will lose any ratings or viewership. Moreover I think it's time to pass on the mantle and adding a younger host will appeal to the teenage audience as well.
The format of the show will remain the same and the telecast begins mid-January. This is done strategically, so that they don't clash with the Cricket World Cup. Talking about the fee that SRK charged, Samir Nair said, it was "more than adequate".
So what do you guys think of this move?
We'll have to wait and see whether or not this is the "Sahi Jawab", but for now "isse Lock Kiya Jaaye" !!

I think SRK is a great choice for this show.....definitely the star host is always an attraction, but more than that the reason why people liked this show is that its simple and easy to understand and the whole package is very good.....
the only person who can fill big B's shoes and take this further is Shah Rukh Khan and no one else comes close.....I am looking forward to watching it

I have never been a big SRK fan but one thing is for certain he is one the most wittiest actors even and its great fun watching his interviews! he has also become pretty introspective these days and he is less of a megalomaniac these days. So I think it would be great fun watching him !

His die hard fans may be happy with this move but he is gonna be a let down. There will be inevitable comparisons and he will meet the same fate as Don-2.

yaa i think its a great decision taken by star plus. i have watched few episodes and he is doing a great job. i really loved him in the show

SRK is magnimous,he is one of those guys who has unparalelled talent,he is the PERFECT actor!!!
I really dont understand you guys,take any SRK's film and watch his acting!!!!He is just fabulous,he can play the role of any character in any film,whereas Big B cant!!!The latter is really good,but he is nothing in front of SRK!!!!!!!!!
Have you watched Big B's KbC?!!!It was boring,he did not make the show look good!!!
But,just watch SRK's KBC,it is breath-taking!!!!SRK has added that magical touch to the show that has made it so so popular the world over!!!!!
So,impartially,SRK is indubitably better than big B,better than anybody else in truth!!!!

Super Star Rajesh Khanna is best choice than actor Amitabh Bachan/Shah Rukh Khan/Amir Khan/Salam Khan.
There are romantic leading men and there are romantic leading men, but very few have taken cinematic love to legendary heights. While there might be other icons but Super-Star- Actor Rajesh Khanna after four decades, he is the ultimate true romantic legend.
