Dil Chahta Hai - Ladies Edition

Remake is the latest buzz word in Bollywood. This is not the first time you've heard this in the last month or so and I promise you, it won't be the last. After Farhan, Ramu, JP decided to remake the classics, Ramu's chela Rohit Jugraj (who made a disaster called James recently) is thinking about making a movie on "female bonding"....All the ladies in the house, putcha damn hands up!!

Now depending on what kind of bonding Rohit is trying to show will decide whether the movie is a remake of Dil Chahta Hai or Fire. He says it is not a remake and I tend to agree with his logic, but then we know how original Indian film makers are. In his own words " “Nahin, bilkul nahin! DIL CHAHTA HAI is a masterpiece, why should I tamper with it? My film looks at the relationship between three girls [Jhanvi, Ginny and Mansi], their bonding, the catfights, the sensitive moments, the ups and downs in a relationship… I am trying to understand women through my film”. Wow that's a rather unconventional way to understand women, how about just trying out dating?

Rumor has it, that he's talking to Lara, Sush and Chops for the leading role but nothing is confirmed yet. The shooting is supposed to start sometime in 2007.
