Cast of Mahabharata - Funniest thing I read this morning
I know we had a post on this topic sometime back and the reason why I am reposting it is because today I was browsing through IMDb and happen to see the cast of Mahabharata there. Now before I say anything, IMDb is known to have some crazy stuff on their site and not all of it is true. I think some of their Bollywood info is very rumor based.
Anyways 'nuff of that, just take a look at this, some of it really cracked me up.....
First are the obvious and the good casting calls -
Big B as Bhisma - good enough, I think that's a good call
Kabir Bedi as Vidur - I can see that, although I have an image of really skinny Vidur in my mind....
Navin Nischol as Dhritharashtra - could work
Jackie Shroff as Yudhisthir - this one works too, he can play the role of a confused big brother
Now come the ones that could go either way, some people would like them and some would laugh....but they were surprising nonetheless
Madhuri Dixit as Kunti - very interesting call, it could work, afterall Kunti has a very strong role in Mahabharata, but Mads as Jackie's mom, c'mon
Dharmendra as Dronacharya - this could go either way, I would have preferred a much controlled and less haggard looking Drona, but I can live with Dharam Paji too....let's just hope he doesn't show up drunk for the shooting....
Now comes the big one Kamal Hassan as Duryodhan - what do you think about that? I think he'd be good at it.....we need a strong actor playing that role

my favorite is.....Karan Johar as Shikhandi - I think someone on this blog mentioned that and I have a feeling Mani Ratnam stole that idea.....this is funny stuff
the list goes on.....Madhavan as Nakul - weak role for a strong actor, Mohanlal as Sahdev- hard to digest a 47 year old visibly FAT Sahdev, how about a 20 something skinny chikna for that role? Manoj Bajpai as Eklavya- Considering that he's unemployed, this could be good practice for Manoj Bajpai. Nagarjuna as Dushasan- Again a weak role for a strong actor.....
But the funniest one was Rajnikanth as Ashvathama - This is as unimaginable as having Arnold play Gandhi, I mean Mani Ratnam will be nuts to cast Rajnikanth to play the son of Dharmendra.....
Shahrukh Khan and Salman Khan (who apparently is doing this movie for free coz he can be shirtless the whole movie) are also attached to the project, although IMDb doesn't list them against any characters, but I assumed they were doing their Karan Arjun routine once again......aayenge mere Karan aur Arjun aayenge - How about Rakhi for the role of Kunti and Kiron Kher for Gandhari?
Anyways I was reading it this morning and having fun, and thought you guys would like it too...

This "unreal" movie has been on imdb for past one year. it started off with a speculation that srk and aamir khan might star togather as arjun and karan with rani mukherjee as draupadi in mahabharatha. At that time there was no mention of Big B, jackie shroff, dharmendra, madhuri etc.
I guess this is just a prank on imdb. There is no real movie like that.

The sequence of events....
1. Rename Hindi film industry to Bollywood. (B for Bombay and ollywood from Hollywood, but the funniest part is that Bombay itself is renamed to Mumbai, now Bollywood should be renamed to MUMLIWOOD)
2. Remix Hindi film songs with english taste and western musical instruments.
3. Remake Hindi films and americanize them.
It seems to me that now the time is ripe for remixing Hindu Mythology, and uproot Indians from their cultural identity. Eventually convert every Hindu and eliminate Hindusim from India.
