Ok guys I am back with more of "what's coming up". This time around its again skewed towards more drama, but next time I promise I will be more diverse in my genre selection.....

Kabul Express - John Abraham, Arshad Warsi

Release Date: October 2006

Two Indians, an American, one Afghan and a Pakistani on a journey together.....sounds a little cheesy, but we could be surprised. But what's impressive is an Indian Director is trying to make a different movie. I am sure that John Abraham and Arshad Warsi will deliver an awesome performance, so even the story is weak, I think the chemistry between the two will be worth watching.....

Its also after a long time someone's visiting Afghanistan after Big B took over that country with his "gold medal" winning performance in the game of "Buzh Kashi". This one is produced by Aditya Chopra ( he's got a great record so far) and directed by Kabir Khan. I dont know a lot about Kabir Khan except that IMDB says he directed a documentary before this one.....

Let's hope this is a good one, meanwhile enjoy the trailor.....

Guru - Abhishek Bachchan, Aishwarya Rai, Madhavan, Vidya Balan

Release Date: December 2006

And the list doesnt end there, IMBD lists, Aryan Babbar, Mithun Da, Mallika Sherawat, Gulzar, Rahman and Rajiv Menon. Anurag Kashyap writes the dialogues and Mani Ratnam directs, last time they got together they delivered Yuva!! So I am definitely waiting for this one....There's no trailor out yet....but apparently lot of theories are doing rounds and the one that I like best is that the movie is based on Dhirubhai Ambani's story and set in the 1960s....

For all you trivia lovers here's some courtesy of Wikipedia

  • Vivek Oberoi, John Abraham, Ajay Devgan, Saif Ali Khan and Kunal Kapoor were considered for the part of the leading male antagonist, who was starring opposite Vidya Balan, which eventually went to Madhavan.
  • Mani Ratnam wanted to make this film in both Hindi and English. The plans for the English version were dropped subsequently.
  • Leading serial actor Apara Mehta refused the role of Aishwarya Rai's mother in the film.
  • Renowned music composer Bappi Lahiri has sung a seven minute song entitled Yammo Yammo in the film.

Babel - Brad Pitt, Cate Blanchett, Gael Garcia Bernal

Release Date: October 27, 2006

Here's a snippet, in Babel a tragic incident involving an American couple in Morocco sparks a chain of events for four families in different countries throughout the world. In the struggle to overcome isolation, fear, and displacement, each character discovers that it is family that ultimately provides solace.

I got interested in this movie a while ago when IMDB listed Mahima Chaudhary and Shilpa Shetty among the actors for the movie, I guess they are no longer part of the movie. The movie could be classified in the same genre as Crash, but I guess director Alejandro has his own genre that he follows and those that have seen Amores Perros and 21 grams will know what I am talking about....

anyways enjoy the trailer....

All the King's Men - Sean Penn, Jude Law, Kate Winslet, James Gandolfini, Anthony Hopkins

Release Date: September 22, 2006

Based on the Robert Penn Warren novel. The life of populist Southerner Willie Stark, a political creature loosely based on Governor Huey Long of Louisiana, played by Sean Penn. It is the story of rise to power of an idealist in the world of Louisiana politics and the corruption that leads to his ultimate downfall....

The movie is Written and Directed by Steve Zaillian who also wrote some famous movies like Schindler's List, Mission Impossible, Gangs of New York and Interpreter. Its a political drama and can be a hit or miss....much like other movies in this genre because they do not appeal to the mass audience. But defintely worth waiting for....meanwhile watch the trailer

So Jude was cheating on his

So Jude was cheating on his ex girly Sienna? At least he is admitting to it I guess. Seems Hollywood romances are as dramatic as the movies.
